Most people in America say they believe in G-d. What does believing in G-d mean to you?.. How does G-d help you, and please share with us your understanding deity concepts. - DNatureofDTrain

It is ok to say "God," he doesn't mind when people talk about him.

The reason I type it as G-d, is the name is not supposed to be written, if it has a chance to get erased it is suppose to be written on something that is going to last forever... I am into the habit of writing it this way out of respect for my Jewish/Hebrew friends and some Christian. When I pray to G-d. I use the word Spirit.. Or say Mother of Mothers, Father of Fathers, Spirit of All Ascended masters.. refering to the G-d of everyone Jesus, Buddha, Mohammed, Peace be upon them all.. Etc.. I am sure he does not mind if we talk about him. I agree with that, Thanks for responding, - DNatureofDTrain

God isn't a name though, is it. its more of a job description. another word for deity.

"God" is written all over the Jewish and Christian scriptures so I don't really see how writing like that is somehow more respectful. And I do think God is his name, not just s descriptor or job. If it was "god" it would be a descriptor of deity. God, especially when written in the OT, is actually Yahweh, the personal god of Israel.
