We are thinking of getting a Jitterbug phone for my mother.
She is 70 something and has trouble with her cell phone. It is a pre-pay virgin mobile cell phone. I know that if it was my phone or even my kids phone, it would get used and most of the extra features would be used. But my mother just needs a phone for the times when she is out and needs to contact us to pick her up or to meet her somewhere, or the chance that there is some type of emergency.
My mom still needs help playing dvds and video tapes so we want something that is simple and minimal extras.
Does anyone know anyone who uses a Jitterbug???
How do they like it, and does it do what it says it will reliably???

Why not, if all she needs is 911, tow and operator...
I think it cost only $10 per month and is very easy to use....
At 70, she is still young...and why not to give her real cell phone...maybe you can add her on your family plan?

That's just it she has a cell phone and has trouble with it. She has had it for a couple of years and still has trouble answering the phone or finding numbers on it.
I know they have 2 types, one with just a couple of buttons and one with the numbers but a lot bigger then a regular phone. The one with the fewet buttons have a phone book and an operator function to use it.
I'm trying to find if anyone has a parent or knows someone who has and uses one.
