OK before people start to freak out I had no idea he was doing this until this afternoon. I have been potty training him for a few months now and got him a stepping stool to use the potty easier. Well needless to say he is a climber. And I found him climbing up on the sink but naked and just stood and watched him to see what he was going to do. And to my surprise he got up on the counter and peed in the bathroom sink. I could not help but laugh. And I called my hubby up stairs to see what "his son" was doing. I had to stop laughing at yell at him to get down. I hope this is not something he will continue to do. I guess I have to watch him more carefully when his goes to the bathroom. Has anyone else ever had this problem with there potty training child?

No, i haven't heard of that one before! Kids will do some pretty crazy things though! If it persists, I would try to get him interested in the potty again, by offering treats/stickers when he goes in the potty, not the sink. (: I'm sure it was just an expierement!

This is the first time that I have ever heard of a child doing it in the sink. I have heard of cats doing their thing in the sinks but not a child. I am sure you had a very good laugh about it. I think that is pretty disgusting but he is only two so he probably does not know better yet. Keep working on the potty training or sink training. LOL What did your husband say or think about it?

Wow I wonder where the heck he got that idea from? My son never really had a problem with going in the toilet but back then 22 years ago I use to use a sticker that was made just for potty training it was a target that you stick to the inside of the toilet! It helped him a lot. Guess he like trying to hit the target LOL!

I've heard of people using Cheerios for that. The target shooting, I mean. They'd toss a Cheerio in the toilet and tell their son to aim for the Cheerio. lol Whatever works! :)

I wonder if I can use the Cheerio target trick to get some adults to hit the target area correctly. LOL Have you ever noticed how many men miss? I think they are day dreaming while doing their business.

Thats hilarious, i would have laughed too. I am just getting into my potty training days, and i haven't come across anything like that yet. I hope that it doesn't happen cause my hubby is a germafobe, he might freak out if our son goes pee where he washes his hands. i don't know, anyway good luck on the potty training.

I would have rather my son pee in the sink then all over his bedroom walls that he did. I think he was molested when he was a year old and it left scars. I dod not know about it at the time. But when I tried to potty train him he peed all over his bedroom walls, I was at my wits in. I did not handle it well I will tell you. He is now 26 and we do not talk about it, I do not know if he remembers it. But I blaimed myself for a long time.

Listen Mom.... you have no idea how lucky you are to have a kid this intelligent. And to think you yelled at him! How could you? so many 2 yr olds don't wanna be trained, especially boys! I helped to raise 4 boys and I know a thing or 2... And don't worry about him using the sink..... whats it matter anyway? he could be peeing in the dogs dish or a flower pot! Hes so smart to think of using the sink! Why can't you just appreciate and Love the little Guy! Has anyone had a child who trained themselves like this?

OK first off I love all of my kids and dont ever forget that. Second off I didnt yell at him like one would yell at an old child to stop peeing in the sink. I simply said in a firm voice Angel No you dont pee there you pee in the potty and put him on the toliet. Im very pround of my son and the progress he is making as far as potty training goes.

Oh my-- Nope but I have only a girl- That is quite comical but also very gross- I hope he doesn't continue to do it either- Can you imagine if you accidently drop your toothbrush in the sink and he was in there just before peeing in the sink- : ) I'm sure he will stop-- just remind him every time he goes to use the bathroom for a while that we go potty in the toilet. Positive reinforcement and constant reminders should do the trick!

I've heard of kids doing that in the bath tub but not the sink. lol He really must be a climber! That sounds like an awful lot of work to me. :) Just make sure he doesn't see you laughing about it. It's kinda funny, but if he thinks that you think it's "cute" he'll keep doing it. I have no idea how to keep him from doing it other than telling him no and keeping a closer eye on him when he uses the potty. Of course, you HAVE to remember this to use as ammo when he becomes a teenager. lol That's almost as bad as hauling out the baby pictures!! lol :)

My son is two years old and toilet training too, I think if he could get up and do it in the sink, he probably would too, lol! I have seen him do it in a bucket when I am just about to mop the floor and he loves to water the grass a lot when he is outside, lol!

Howdy! How are you doing? Well, I know grown men that pee in the sink, so please don't feel bad about that, hehehe! I bet it was funny to see. You may want to supervise him and tell him that he is not supposed to pee in the sink. Show him the toilet: This is where you pee. I have never potty trained at all, but I just wanted to let you know that I know of several people (that are my relatives) that I saw them pee in the sink. I thought it was funny at first, and then I thought it was nasty! And when I say relatives I am talking about adults, well over the age of 18, heheheh! Pablo

I think toilet training boys is more problematic because they have to remember to sit for one thing and stand for another. As a result, they may get very confused. I know my son did when he was that age and he would end up just going on the bathroom floor because he couldn't remember which he needed to do first. Eventually, your son will figure out that climbing up on the sink is not the way to go to the bathroom, but at least he was in the general vicinity of the toilet when he went.

I used to work with my husbands oldest son from his first marriage, he was a kid at the child care I was working at. He was like 9? I believe and I took him and some other kids to plant flowers outside one of the buildings on base. He asked to use the bathroom and so did another kid so I took them in and they went to the boys room. When they came out, the other boy said Mikey peed in the sink instead of the toilet. So odd I though and of course I told him not to do that, but they all thought it was a big joke. But he was alot older than your boy. I cant imagine why other than curiosity that he would be doing it! He probably just wanted to see what would happen. Sounds like you did everything right and hopefully it wont happen again. I would have laughed too, lol!!

Oh my your son is inventive..yes its true children do the most weirdest things but to them its natural. I too have had problens with my daughter using the potty, allthough I have never seen her pee in the sink, I have seen her be so into watching her cartoons and not wanting to miss them (i know that cuz she tells me) so she will pee on herself all cuz she doesnt want to miss cartoons. They are amazing little things but we wouldnt trade them for anything.

Lol I'm sorry, but I had to laugh when I read that!! Did he say why he prefers peeing in the sink? :) Probably just something different. No, I have 3 girls, can't say I've ever seen them do that. Hopefully he'll stop, for your sake and his, I'd hate to have him fall down!! Good luck :)

That is really gross~ sorry. I haven't had any of my kids pee in the sink. My one son did always want to go outside to pee because when I was training him it was summer and we were always outside at our pool. He would say he had to go potty so I would take him to the deep grass (we live in the country) and have him pee there. Later that week he tried to go outside and when asked why he wanted to be outside, he said he had to go potty. I stopped that right away too.

LOL I couldn't help but laugh if I saw that too. But at least you got over laughing long enough to tell him that was wrong. I have just now started introducing my daughter to potty training so I don't have any funny stories yet. But I'm sure I will. But she did poop in the potty for the first time Saturday. But I don't think it was intentional. She was taking a bath and I could tell she was getting ready to poo so I scooped her up really fast and put her on her potty. Regardless of if it was intentional or not I was still proud.

Of course you were proud. I hope you did the potty dance so she knew it was a good thing that she did. Good Luck with the potty traning. BTW girls are easier to train.
