stimulating infants

can anyone give me some ways to keep an infant stimulated? What did you do with your children? How do you know if they are not getting enough?

My daughter wanted to sit from the day she was born. She hated to be laid down and loved to look around at things. She had a vibrating chair that we put her in while we would talk to her and what not. I guess the way she let us know when she needed some attention is by making a noise she never cried just kind of grunted at you to look at her.

yeah, i hardly ever lay my little boy down unless he is sleeping and sometimes he even likes to sleep sitting up (which makes me very nervous). I have a little vibating chair but he does not really like it. I do have an exersaucer that he stays in and he will swing every now and then. It seems like he is getting bored with these things though.

Yeah my daughters first love was teh swing well when taht no longer suited her came teh vibrating chair then the smaller swing and then a play center that she could slide back and forth on and play with things. Just remember he is just a baby and it doesn't take much to excite him he may seem bored because he may not be able to express his excitement. I thought my daughter was bored, but now as she reaches one she is the most active child I have ever seen. Just think of it his way of learning things and saving all his energy to destroy the house. LOL. That's what mine does

oh boy!! yes it sounds like you have your hands full!! I cant wait untill that stage comes i think at that point i will give up on the house work. You know what they say if you cant beat them just go ahead and join them. ( i could picture my boy looking at me if i joined in on tearing the house up like i am some kinda crazy mom who has lost it)lol!!!
