Judge's Choices

Three songs each on American Idol tonight, and one was picked by the judges for each singer. Simon picked "Wishing on a Star" for Jordin. I had never heard of it so I googled it and found this version on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fq_gNwV7h-Q I think she can probably do well with it. Paula picked "Roxanne" for Blake. I can see that having phenomenal potential. Randy picked "I Believe in You and Me" by Whitney Houston for Melinda. Oh my God -- I love that song. It was in "The Preacher's Wife" with her and Denzel and it is probably my favorite thing she ever did. No matter what you think of Melinda, I predict that she will do a fantastic job on this song. You know, listening to those choices from the judges, I think all three of them got great songs for their talents. I love "Wishing on a Star" and I believe that Jordin's voice matches the sound of the song, the light singing and the strong closing notes. Blake with "Roxanne" should be awesome; I'd love to see if he'll change the beat because Police beats are always good to be remixed. Melinda doing Whitney Houston should also go over really well because she always hits perfect notes and a Whitney song would require that kind of perfection... it should be an awesome night!

This is interesting. We were just talking at lunch and wondered who the mentor would be on there and what they would sing tonight. I forgot the judges always pick one song for them to sing. Thanks for posting this topic.

Why certainly! This is the first time I have followed this show, so I didn't know the judges would do that. I think it's pretty cool after they've been watching them and observing their strengths and weaknesses, etc.

I will not see the show until i have downloaded it but i do belive that they will do a great job. I do hope that Jordin will win, I think that she is great and has a wonderful voice. I loved that clip of Jenifer Hudson as well =) She is a great singer also...

Aww just listened to the first round of songs and BOY did Melinda knck it out of the box LOL dang, she sang that song brilliantly! =P
