How can cats be good pet?

every one is different you can't say most people do not like them and just as people are different cats are different too as for shedding i thought dogs did that too but every dog is different to but i know cats have something dogs do not cats are very therapeutic animals when i'm not feeling well my cat always spends extra time with me

I have two cats. I would not trade them in for anything. They are not my pets, they are my little fur children. I do not agree that most people do not like them. Many people do not like dogs or birds or reptiles. To each their own. I've grown up with cats all my life. I've never had my cats leave us to go to another home. They will sometimes leave if they are being treated badly where they live, but who could blame them. I think my cats are very loyal. They do listen but only to a certain extent. Animals cannot communicate like humans so therefore they do not understand being told something the way a child would.

I've had my cat for several years now, and she's trained. She listens to me and knows what she's not supposed to do. And so what if cat's shed? Dogs do it too, you can't say that only cats do it, because every single dog I've ever owned has shed their hair. It's a cat/dog/mammal thing. The only time cats will leave is if you mistreat them. And that only happens usually if you have cats that you put outside. And dogs will do it to you know. These are all silly reasons to hate cats, and prefer dogs (if you do), as they all can be applied to a dog as well.

andywish, you are in a forum full of cat lovers. I have no hatred towards cats, but I don't like pets, any pet. But I know people keeping cats in their houses as real pets. Especially children like them. I am sorry to say that I don't share your opinion that most people don't like cats.
