Though I have desktop PC, I am tempted to the features that a notebook offers. Now in my country, there is a steep fall in price of notebooks and even low brands and models available in the market today. I ask whether a notebook is a better choice over a traditional desktop PC? Will be a budget notebook the best choice? Will be a notebook better choice over performance and absolute substitute for a desktop PC?

Go for the notebook Ronimas. I think a laptop is the best choice. We have a wireless connection in the house so wherever I am in the house I just take the laptop with me. And when I travel also it's very practical. I wouldn't be able to take the desktop with me heh? I would think that maybe in the future those heavy desktop computers will simply disappear because more and more people will only buy laptops.

Wow! I did it. I thought mylot didn't accept the picture. But it was my mistake. I didn't hit the upload button. This happens to me many times. I browse to the picture and then forget to upload.

Set yourself a budget on how much you're willing to spend on the new notebook... Then, start looking for suitable models 20% less than your budget... You'll end up finding a model or models you like that have slightly better specs if you pay a little more... That's when your reserved 20% comes in... now, happy shopping! When possible, avoid the onboard graphics in notebooks... anything that uses shared memory should be avoided... especially the Intel GMA ones... Depending on what you're wanting to use the notebook for, you may want to keep a workhorse desktop PC for serious work... and have a less powerful notebook for pure portability and convenience...

If you have the budget then get one. It seems the "In" thing right now. many prefer laptops/notebook over desktops nowadays because of portability and mobility of such. Before it was seen as bulky and heavy but nowadays there are a slim as your cellphone already and lighter too carry around. And with the advent of Wifi and anything wireless technology it seems that it is more practical to buy laptop over desktop these days. I am quite sure that sooner the laptops or notebooks will rule over the old desktops.
