how do you dry a colander?

I have had another one of my "moments" tonight. I was drying the colander and, as you probably know, the metal where the "holes" are is never dry, so I gave the colander a good old shake to get any water out, lost my grip, the colander sailed through the air, smashed into the thingie wotsit that kills the bugs and now Other Half as to drill more holes and put it back on the wall, except he will do it more securely than ever this time.
How do I do it?
Anyway, it is a metal colander with a plastic sort of handle so I can't microwave it and I can't just shove it in the oven to try, as I someimes do with sauspans. So how DO you make sure the holes of a colander are s dry as the rest of it??

I just give it a shake and leave it in the draining board until it is dry enough to put away. I normally dry and put away all of my dishes after washing, but I do leave the colander/strainer out to air dry when I use it.

I just prop it up in the dish drainer and let it air dry. I was taught in my childcare classes to let dishes air dry because towels even though they are washed harbor germs.

Yes, I was taught that too, which is why I change the dish dryer every time I wash up and use really hot water. The kitchen is so small it and I have so many falls it is not practical to air dry, but thank you for that, I shall see if we can rig a hook or something over the drainer.

I hope those hooks are no-where near you! Has he put them on the wall behind the worktop to avoid you taking your eye out?
Toes can be so painful, sadly they don't do anything about broken toes usually so you have to suffer in silence.
Maybe you should get an industrial sized roll of cotton wool like the one I prescribed for Gabs and roll yourself up in it and not move for the next few days!

They are above a work top and hopefully not catchable by me!
Well, the accident where I damaged my toe would have been worse with slippers because then I would probably have got the foot stuck and damaged my knee and/or my ankle. As it was I was on my own and I got wedged and it was a heck of a job to get out. But no harm done. I is here lol.
I can't wrap myself up too much lol. I do have a huge roll of cotton wool and an equally huge bottle of witch hazel though!

Yup, I am having a very bad week. Covered in bruises, think I have broken my toe as well as ripped the nail virtually off, big lump on my head and it is only Saturday, sigh.
Other Half is going to put hooks up for the sieve and colander so that once I have teatowelled them they can hang safely. I took out a little bit of plaster as well when the bug buster got hit, so I am VUP - Very Unpopular Person.

Well, as I think you can testify there isn't room to swing a cat in that kitchen and I try to keep the draining board clear so I have a clear grab area when I trip.
I am not popular but it is only a hook to go back on the wall, the bug buster was not destroyed. You should have seen it go. Whoosh!
I wouldn't mind but I am actually doing housework and it still goes wrong and I get into bother. Can't wait to get that wishing well. I got a list here long as my arm.
Before you say it I know, can't be greedy, probably I shall narrow it down to one wish and keep a spare for my family.

I cheat I have a dishwasher so I just set it on high heat to dry everything.
Since you don't want to leave it on the drainboard use a hair dryer to dry it. Should only take a minute or so and would probably save you from wrecking the kitchen again lol

Hey! BRILLIANTI! Hair dryer! Sorted!
I do have a dish washer but because of the lack of space I can't have it in the kitchen yet, if you have read above you probably get a good idea of the mayhem that is home lol.
I still can not believe that the thing whizzed out of my hand and managed to do all that damage! At least I missed the wall clock lol.

Well, I think I am going to have a hook put up especially for the colander and the sieve to make sure they do air dry thoroughly. I am still in disgrace, but then what else is new lol.

Just turn it upside down and let it air dry. This may take a little longer but have patience it works LOL!

I think everyone but me knows about this. The irony is that I am a mucky little puppy and detest housework but I always put the crockery straight back so that it can be used again and so that I have plenty of "grab areas" if I trip.
