Well I'm all hyped up for a fun filled evening tonight. Heading out in a few hours to Elko Speedway for fun filled evening.

This is a NASCAR Busch sanctioned points race. Jeffery Earnhardt with DEI will be here. So will Joey Logano with Joe Gibbs Racing and also Chase Uastin with Rusty Wallace racing. Some big name companies here. This track is a 5/8 mile track. These Late Models will be doing around 110 MPH on this little track. They are talking 50 cars to be here with 30 qualifiers for the main 150 lap Race. I've got my NASCAR shirt, cap, and my camera, permanent marker, blanket all set. Im ready. The storm looks as if it will be done well before racetime. The meet & greet autograph session is being held on the track for 1 hour prior to the green flag. I'm just hoping Jeffery Earnhardts area isn't packed. Not likely but I hope. I don't want to stand in just one lione. But then again who knows. Just wanted my friends to know this as I will more than likely only be here on and off all weekend as theres 6 NASCAR events this weekend and I would like to hit at least 3 of ythem. Tonights Minnesota 150, tomorrows NASCAR regular series, then also the regular series at Shakopeespeedway Sunday nigjht. I will more than like;ly just get to tonights event but I'll have to see if theres enough funds available. PayPal donations would be accepted by me if you feel up to it. Hahahaha. Grandpa Bob are you taking anybody with you? I am available. LOL.
I would love to go to a live race, I have never done something like that. In our town they are trying to get a speedway. They county and city voted to say yes, but they they main guy who was promoting this ended up being brought up on fraud charges so I do not know what is going on with the speed way. In someways I think it would be good for our economy. We have the higest unemployent rate in California here.

I hope you enjoy the Nascar game and have a nice weekend...after all you need it.The last few weeks was little hard with your father health problems(I hope he is fine now).
I also hope the things with your son are fine and he is still at him new job working and paying back to you.

I'm excited for you, know you'll have a great time.
Just a thought but if it was me I would be headed out at least a couple hours early and be standing at the gates when they open in hopes of getting some 'pre-race' photo opps :) Such as you with Jeff :)

The gates open at 5 p.m. It's just little over an hours drive from my house. So I am leaving around 3 or 3:30. Everytime I go I get there before the gates open. I like to get a decent seat as I don't buy reserved seating. Just that I like sitting closer to the track lower down. I do get the smoke and debris flying by me down low in the stands but the umbrella and/or blanket fends that off easily. Nothing like the smeel of racing fueel, oil, and burnt rubber from the screaching tires at a NASCAR event. Yee Hawww! hahahaha! Okay thats overboard. You be sure to have a great weekend also. I'm so glad you're able to attend this Grandpa Bob. It's very exciting when we get to do things that we enjoy so much. It's The Victoria Day holiday weekend here in Canada, so most have Monday off. Is this a holiday weekend for you too?
My stepson (the troubled one, that I mentioned in a previous post to you), used to be a 'pit crew' member for some (or one) of the Nascar drivers. This is a number of years ago now, and a long story too. I can't remember which driver(s) he did this for. Also my (late) husband LOVED car racing, and always wanted to be a driver. He once took me to a raceway here, just to take a look, but it was off season, and so it was closed. I used to 'be in on' the enthusiasm these events create.
I hope you get your autographs, and am looking forward to some great reports, and photos (of course). Have a wonderful time.:)

No holiday here. We celebrate memorial Day the last Monday of May though. Also a huge NASCAR event(s) that weekend. Hahahaha. As long as it isn't rained out I'll get at leasy a bunch of photos. Don't know about the autographs. Depends on the lines as they open the field for one hour only for the meet and greet. Everytime I've been there for this it's jammed to the tilt. Hahaha. Thanks.

You will certainly have a great time at that event and I can imagine the excitement pumping through your blood vessels. I only see it on the television being in Scotland, and there the crowds in the droves seam to revel in it. Great to watch.

My in-laws live about five miles away from the Pocono Raceway. I'm not really a fan of car racing but I think I might have to go check it out when they have one of the races since it's close and i've never been to one. Have fun out there!
