Have you ever heard of or drunk white tea? I have a box of organic white tea which i've been drinking. It's not quite as bitter tasting as green tea, but has more delicate a flavour than black tea. In fact i think it's delicious! It's also said to have the most anti-oxidants out of all the teas. If you've tried it, what do you think of it? If you haven't, does it sound like the sort of thing you'd like to try?

I am a big fan of white tea. I have a box of Berryblossom White Tea by Tazo, which is really tasty- however, it isn't organic or fair trade, so I won't be buying it again. What brand is the white tea you have, and do you know if it is fair trade or not?

I am more of a coffee drinker than a tea one. I just drink the normal bell tea or sometimes earl grey tea but thats about it. Sounds interesting though.

I have never heard of white tea. Very interesting. Can you get it at any grocery store or does it need to be at a organic store? Very curious about this. I love green tea, just don't drink it as much as I should. Matter of fact, think I will go get some now because you have made me thirsty . LOL

Lipton and Celestail Seasonings distribute it at most regular grocery stores. However, I am in California where it seems everyone is big on health and new eating fads, look in your coffee/tea section. The best would be a health food store or natural food grocery store.

I have tried white tea, as you say it is more delicate, and natural taste. I drink tea regularly, both hot and iced. I enjoy all three types, they are all the same plant just how and when harvested and processed. There is also oolong tea which is between green and black tea in process.
I'm not big into herbal teas though, and a lot of the green and white teas I see are combined with either herbal teas or fruit flavors.
I've seen one tea company that makes bottled teas has white tea with either blueberry or peach flavors. Why can't they realize there are those of us who just like the taste of tea.

i have tried those peachy and blueberryish white tea bottles (made by snapple, called 'lighten up!')...i wasn't very impressed. the white tea is almost undetectable. it mostly tastes like watered down fruit juice. not a bad drink, just not recommended if you want to really TASTE the white tea.
i think white tea is way too subtle to be combined with other flavors.....those flavors just overpower the tea.
though i did create grapefruit white tea jello, and though subtle in flavor, it was very nice. refreshing, without losing the tea's taste.

Hi Hezoid, I also just posted about white tea, and yours came up as a similar one - don't worry my questions different.
I have also just got a pack of organic white tea as I am hoping it is only "dehydrated" and ok for a raw foodists, even though the packets just usually say dehydrated and minimal processing. I am looking forward to trying it,as I haven't opened my pack yet!

The tea takes its name from the silver fuzz that still covers the buds, which turn white when the tea is dried.Tea leaves destined to be sold as white tea undergoes even less processing than green tea.Instead of air-drying the unwihtered leaves are merely steamed.

i have heard that white tea is uncured and un oxidised tea leaf.like green ,oolong and black tea, white tea comes from the camellia sinensius plant.
white tea often contains buds and young tea leaves ,which have been found to contain low caffine level than older leaves ,suggesting that the caffine of some of the white teas may be sligtly lower than that of green teas . white tea can be classified into number of grades.
white teas many contain a higher catechin levels than green tea ,due to its lack of processing.catechin concentration is greatest in fresh ,unbroken, and unfermented leaves.
as it is taken from young leaves, it has more amino acids than green tea and black tea.
white tea contains less flouride than green tea, since white tea is made from young leaves.
caffine content of green and white tea are same ,though both depend on factors such as the variety of the tea ,cut and lenght of the leaf and the method of steeping.
genrally 2 to 2.5 grams of tea per 200 ml( 6 ounces) of water ,or about 1.5 spoons of white tea per cup is taken. white teas should be prepared with 80 degree centigrade water(not boiling) and steeped for 2,3 minutes.
upto now i didn't try this tea and thinking to make a try now.

They keep coming out with so many varities now that it makes my head spin. I still love a good old cup of regular tea with milk. But, also drink green tea. Love the stuff. My favorite is green tea with ginseng, honey and lemon.

I have heard a lot about white tea but I have not tried it still.I love my green tea.if it is brewed properly it is not bitter and you will soon get accustomed to its taste.Chinese tea drinkers have known white tea's benefits since the Ming Dynasty.Until recently it was virtually unknown outside of Asia. Not anymore, today everyone from chefs to medical researchers are praising white tea's delicate flavor and purported health benefits.White tea has become the hottest new food trend.White tea contains more polyphenols the powerful anti- oxidant that fights and kills cancer causing cells, than any other type of tea.I would like to try it.

I sometimes drink white tea, I like its delicate taste. I've tried some Berryblossom White Tea by Tazo (someone sent me a bag), but I wasn't very impressed by it. In fact, I've been disappointed by all the teas by Tazo. Right now I have a box of White Tea by Celestial Seasonings and it's not bad. I had to buy it in the Netherlands though (it was pretty cheap) as in France I've had trouble finding it. I've noticed white tea is becoming quite popular in the Netherlands, but they're adding fruity tastes like peach and pear to it. I don't like that, I prefer my white tea plain. It already has such a light flavour, why ruin it?

I really like white tea. I have had it iced with fruit flavor and I've also had it warm. I actually get this white/green tea fusion blend from a company called Stash. I pick this brand up at Trader Joe's. I really like it with honey.

I love white tea (and all sorts of teas). I drink white tea when I want a lighter, refreshing flavour. I like to brew a pot of white tea then refrigerate it to drink cold on hot days with a touch of honey. In colder weather I crave more black and chai teas, but in the summer white tea is perfect!

I have been drinking green tea for some time now and JUST switched to white tea a few weeks ago. It is SUPPOSE to be green tea but the leaves are not as mature and it is suppose to be better for you too! Instead of Soda, I have switched to an Iced Green or White Tea (from the stores already brewed). It is not as good as fresh brewed for you, but I think it's better than drinking soda (pop or coke-depending on what part of the USA you are from.)

I haven't tried it. Yes I read about it. Always wanted to try - as soon as they start selling here - if the price is reasonable. :P
