4 Biblical Keys to Defeating Temptation
1. Refocus your attention on something else.
* The Battle for sin is won or lost in our minds. Whatever gets our attentions will get us.
* To avoid being stung stay away from the bees.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

2. Reveal your struggle to a Godly friend or support group
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:If one falls down,his friend can help him up.But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Ecc 4:9-10
*The reason we hide our faults is pride. Humble oneself before God.
3. Resist the devil
- Accept Christ's salvation
- use the Word as your weapon against satan.
- Dont ever try to argue with the devil, he is better at arguing than you are.
4. Realize your vulnerability
So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall!

MY Reflection.
Almighty and Heavenly Father, I thank you for this very moment in my life, you gave me this precious moment to know more about you and Your word that will be used as our helmet and our protection from temptation. Thank you for loving us so much that always provide a way out in times of temptation.
And a realization that what ever temptation that comes our way are those temptations that we can bear, you never give us things that is beyond our capabilities. Thank you for trusting us enoughto give us the strentgh to kep on when tempted and when at times when we loose ourselves forgive us when the temptation gets in the way and we sin against you.

After reading your discussion, I have the following questions.
Are all "temptations" bad? Are "temptations" actually good or bad for us? In my opinion, temptations are instruments to make us stronger so that we do not subcumb to it. However, We might have to give in to certain temptations once a while to enjoy life fully. Otherwise, life would be flat, boring and depressing if we have to defeat all temptations. Don't you agree?

Its how we react to tmptations and our character to temptations makes the difference. It is bad when we are not able to say no to them and when we suffer from the consequences and the side of it when we suffer we learn and able to make decisions. I agree with you, these re the spices of life, there are temptations everyday and we have ways to say no to them and more often than not suffer from the consequences of it.

Everyday we face temptations in many forms. Sometimes we think of doing ungodly things especially when we are desperately in need. In instances such as this, we should learn to surrender everything to God as I have learned to do over the years and everything will be all right. Things though happens for a purpose. Also, one certain way of defeating temptation is to consciously avoid them and do things that would attract them.

Yes, very well said. As it was said on the first lines here : to avoid being stung avoid the bees. Somtimes we love the honey so much that we forget there are bees around to sting us. Well then, sometimes we neve learn until we get our pain and then after that we are better than before the stunging.
