Are you a spender or a saver?

It's almost impossible to save money the way things are today but I'm always hearing about people who do it. I have to give them a lot of credit if they do.
My mother is always telling me I should save for a rainy day but it seems like it's always raining for me...lol...
Once I get my bills paid, food in the house and all of the other needs that are always there I really do try to put a couple of dollars aside. The bad thing is that after all is said and done there is something that I really want or feel I need, or can use for some reason or another. Like right now I want a Swifter very badly..lol...small thing but their on the expensive side for my pocketbook and there's always something else I need to do with that money.
Is it really possible to save money today? If you are a saver have you given anything up to be able to do it? Are you saving for a particular item?

I find it impossible to save money! At the moment, I am trying to save up £950 for rent, but I am finding it very hard as there are so many distractions around. The washing tonight cost me £7, which is a lot just to get your clothes cleaned. I have never believed in saving for a rainy day, as I believe in living for today. If you always save, you'll never have fun! Paydays are my 12 favourite days of the year. Christmas and Birthdays are good too. x

I wish I could be more of a saver. Sometimes if physically hide the money, I won't spend it, but I am a shopper. I love to shop. I want to buy clothes for the kids and sometimes me, I want buy new shoes, and I have an addiction to Victoria's Secret. I also have a hard time saying no to fabric, beads, and other craft supplies. Luckily, I usually use the craft supplies and purchased fabric and sometimes sell my finished product. But that money just goes right back to purchase more craft supplies.

I would much rather save money if at all possible. I have a hard time doing it because there is always something that we need and I end up spending it. I don't spend our money unless I have to though. I don't like to splurge on unnecessary items very often, just once in a while as a special treat.

I am a horrible splurger! I'm constantly buying things I don't really need at the time but just want for some reason.

Hanging my head in shame - I am a spender. Note, after bills are paid I seldom have much if anything left over but if I have money I will spend it.
The best I've managed is 'pennies' I have a jar I put them in and don't spend them until the jar is full - admittedly it sometimes takes several years for the jar to fill. It is funny though even my 16 year old gets into this 'savings' and last time it was almost full (amounts to about $40) he started asking what we were going to get with the money. When I said I was thinking dinner out at a nice resturant in town, one of his favorites, he started getting his friends to contribute their pennies too - suggestions that the pennies in their pockets were going to weigh them down so they couldn't jump as high as him on skateboards or charging them a penny to use the phone.

It looks like you may have another Donald Trump on your hands..lol....I may start doing that myself and I'm sure my jar will fill up a lot faster.

Hi,ctrymuziklvr!
I'm a spender!!!It's hard for me to save money and I find what I can do is to make sure that I can have more chances to earn enough.
Yesterday,I just returned money to one of my friend.I felt a little bit bad when I asked him to lend some money.I promised him that I would return it to him as soon as I could. This is the first time I borrowed money from my friend,I hope it will never happen again.

I've never been a good saver, always had trouble saving for long periods of time. I would probably save for about a fortnight and then something would come up and then I would use the funds I had saved.
My husband is a saver but ever since he met me OOPS I kinda ruined that LOL. However he does make an effort to put some $$ away every pay for a rainy day.
