I am just wondering a few things about beat boxing..... Is it actually a style or genre of music like hip hop or rock and roll? What is it exactly? I mean, I have seen Blake perform and know they call it beat boxing but is it referring to the sounds he makes with is mouth or is it more than that? I really do try to stay current with things happening in the music world.... I feel like this one has slipped past me.

I have heard it with both but I am a little behind myself. i think it is mostly for rap and hip hop though.

I think it is just a style- there isn't a category as far as I know- called beatboxing- like rap or country. I love it! he was so impressive- He added a new style to some older songs! I hope that he continues on with his music career- Blake was my American Idol. It was fun listening to him make the sounds!

I loved the style he added to some of the old songs. What an awesome entertainer. I hope he does well in his career.

Oh, I'm sure he'll do really well in his career. I'm a Blake fan myself and love to hear him beatbox. I have always been entertained by beatboxing from the time I first heard someone do it back in the 80's. I remember being in elementary school and all of the guys trying to do it.

From back in the 80s???? Really?? I didn't know it had been around that long. Was it part of the whole break dancing craze from the 80s?
