I've suffered from depression and anxiety for most of my life. I've been on pretty much every medication out there. Most of them I had to stop taking because of horrible side effects. The ones I could tolerate never really worked that well. I looked at natural supplements to treat depression but they were all kind of expensive. My friend who is a school guidance counselor suggested biofeedback therapy. Unfortunately my insurance didn't cover it so I bought one of the less expensive biofeedback machines for myself. In the long run that is probably cheaper anyway because insurance copays do add up. I absolutely love my biofeedback machine. It really does help. After using it I feel so calm and peaceful. The last time I had an anxiety attack, using the biofeedback I started to feel a lot better within minutes. It's also been a great tool to help me practice meditation and deep breathing. I wrote a short article in my blog about it which has links to the biofeedback website if you are interested in learning more about this. ~Kythe42 http://lemurianphoenix.blogspot.com

I take Paxil for my depression and anxiety. That has helped me a great deal but I am interested in looking at other things if they might work. Thanks for the information.

I also have some experience with depression and anxiety (unfortunately). I just switched insurance companies and the new one did not cover what I was taking so I stopped. I will check out your info on the biofeedback. I don't know a whole lot about it but am really curious now.

Biofeedback is a way to retrain your body to overcome stress. It involves being hooked up to a machine that will measure your heart rate, body temperature, and other factors. I've found it's helped me a great deal with my stress and depression. Please read the article that I wrote in my blog. There is a link to the biofeedback program there. ~Kythe42 http://lemurianphoenix.blogspot.com
