flashbacks! do you have them playing in your mind?

why do some people have this? just this afternoon, i was riding my car on the way home and i was kinda sleepy already due to the afternoon heat of the sun. when i closed my eyes, its like there were flashbacks of scenes that happened in my life before. i opened my eyes because i didnt like that kind of flashback, because it was an unpleasant memory.
when i closed my eyes again, it was a flashback of a very pleasant memory. im just curious why this happened to me. i didnt command my mind to have some "flashbacks", it just did.
has this occured to you?

yes sometimes, i think about the past good moments(flashback), which i enjoyed. it just occur on its own without any command

well, thank you for replying to my discussion. at least i know that im not the only one who experiences flashbacks without me commanding my mind to think of those scenes. lolz. :)
