My german shepherds

I am so blessed to have my two german shepherds. They're the best company, don't talk back and love you no matter what. They play so well together and they're so jealous of each other. When one comes to get some attention the other one is running right after them. They keep me from feeling lonely so easily and are so full of love. What about you other dog people? What breeds do you have and why? I started with one right after becoming a property manager for protection. The second was a rescue and has really flourished living with us. He was 20 lbs underweight, had not been housebroken (the former people left him chained up outside 24/7 year round and we live in a 4 season climate), he didn't know what it was to have food and water available whenever he wanted it, had no idea what to do with toys, etc. He's a very different and much happier dog now and loves living in a house. He hates the rain and isn't fond of snow either so I can imagine what life was for him before. We have a kennel attached to the house so they go out whenever they need and want to. They love their lives I'm sure!

I fully understand you. 35 years ago I had a German Sheperd. He loved me dearly. Now that I am getting older I have English Cocker Spaniels because they are small yet real dogs and because they are intelligent and affectionate. These are the same character traits that my German shepherd had and which I love so much in dogs.

Cocker Spaniels were my second choice. At the time I got the first german shepherd I did want a bigger dog though and Cassie did scare some tenants that I did not trust and kept things from being worse I do believe. I'm glad to know cocker spaniels share those traits as I no longer am a landlord and also am getting older. Thanks.
