I seem to have acquired a kitten

The past 3 or 4 days I've seen this young orange and white cat in and around my and my neighbour's (landlord) yard and we couldn't figure out where she'd come from. Today, my cat was outside on the front stoop and I heard her give her 'the-world-is-coming-to-an-end' scream that only indicates a strange cat is around and in her yard, so I went outside and the little kitten took off into my landlord's yard again. I went over, coaxed the kitten out from under a woodpile and brought her inside. She's severely emaciated, no collar or ear tattoo, a little freaked out but quick to warm up, however my cat (Onye, aka Queen of Sheba and everything else) is NOT impressed nor is my roommate's kitten who got a nice whap upside the head when he got too close. We just went and put up a found cat ad at the 7/11 on the corner, and are hoping to get a phone call in the next few days. I'd like to keep her if I were in a better financial position, but I also know that with my dog it's probably not feasible since she's quite skittish and would likely end up dog food. If we don't get a phone call from the owner, we figured we'd wait a week and then find her a home. She's a pretty little girl, though. Ever found a cat? What did you do?

Hi Bree, one of our cats used to belong to some people behind us but even when they lived there, she was alays over in our yard. Eventualy when they moved out, they left her behind and my wife had claimed a new cat. she's i nice gray cat that just picked us more than anything. Take care, Terry

LOL. Every time I find a kitten or adult cat I end up adopting it. That is how I got most of my cats.

ive had about 5 cats in my life so far (though none at the moment) and i believe all but my first one were strays that we just adopted..or in one case, walked in the back door one day and decided this place was nice and he would bless us with his presence from then on, lol! the strays always seem to have great personalities, perhaps cause they know how life is better with a family than on the street?
