Rolling Thunder is an organization dedicated to keeping the issues concerning POWs and MIAs on the minds of Americans and our Government. Never forget that there are POWs and MIAs from every war. Never forget that there are many still alive. More importantly, never let our government forget! Where is SGT Scott Speicher, missing in action since 1991? Today they are riding their motorcycles on Washington D.C. I can't wait for the day that I can join them on their ride! Would you ride with them if you could?

Hello ParaTed2k, When Hubby & I went to "The Gathering of Eagles" in Washington, DC this March, 'Rolling Thunder was very heavily represented. It was a truly amazing political statement. And, we finally felt empowered as we shouted down the organized communist protestors, across the barricade from the 'Lincoln Memorial'. It was the first time ever, that the organizers of the anti-war, communist, pro-illegal immigration rallies were met with more counter protestors than they had among their own ranks. We outnumbered the Cindy Sheehan crowd by at least 4:1. Suffice it to say, 'Constitution Gardens' was swimming in leather! And for many there, it was the very first time they'd ever been welcomed home from Viet Nam. Would we join Rolling Thunder? If we had more time and bikes, then absolutely. Hubby got rid of his bike years and years ago. But, just yesterday we were discussing the possibility of re-investing in at least one bike for him, partly because of 'Rolling Thunder'. So, you bet we'd ride if we could. Perhaps as we get closer to retirement.

That's what has kept me from joining... I haven't owned a bike in years either. I'd love to be involved with all the Rolling Thunder, Gathering of Eagles and Patriot Guard activities. I've heard Cindy Whatsitsname is cutting and running. Typical. Good riddance! Welcome to my friends list!

Hello ParaTed2k, The 'GOE' first met in DC in March. Few rode their bikes. Most flew or drove, and some even chartered busses and took the train. So, that's a 'bike not required' option. Of course, many of the 30-35k who were there were either Rolling Thunder or PG Riders. They just didn't ride because of the distance, and the sore fannies they would have had. As for Mother Sheehan, yeah ... I heard she finally called it quits too. Not a stretch of predictive powers to have figured out that as soon as she started bashing the DNC, they'd cut her support. I will say though, that the look on her face as she was booed and shouted down by 30,000 vets on 3-17-07 was priceless. That's the first time they ever had any large numbers of Veterans calling them on their 'Hanoi Jane' behavior. Oh, and thanks for the warm welcome. You and I interracted on some discussions a few months back, then I lost track of you. I'm glad our paths crossed again. Looking forward to many more interesting discussions on the boards.
