Can there be really true friendship between a boy and a girl?

This question always haunts me. I have seen this that mopst of the time they start as fru=iends. But after few days, it changes to something else, rather something beyond friendship.I have seen this in more than 80% cases. why this is so? Is it the law of universe? Or is it something that is destined to happen. I believe in true friendship between a boy and girl, nothing beyond that.

well its not the law if universe, but if you analyze it .. well its like this: lovers starts as friends.. when a boy became friends with a girl, its not because he has no choice of picking other friends, its because he is interested with the girl that is why he choose the girl to be friends with,, after that the feeling will 80% develop into something.
