I'm sick and tired of people calling the bush administration "facist". I do not condone the actions of Mr.Bush, but to compare him to mussolini or hitler is a joke. These facist leaders had anybody who would question them shot, bush does not. They had a whole bunch of people killed for no good reason, other than their supposed threat to their lands, when it was a control issue. Arresting people, and holding them for up to 3 years for no reason, does not even close to match the murder of over 5 times the people imprisioned. I also don't see what the problem is with an extra search of the arabs, when all the suicide bombers were arabs, along with a whole slew of other terrorists. Arabs are not bad people as a whole, but the terrorists (the select few they are) are almost completly arabs. Its not racist, it's just a precaution. Facism is how you describe a murderous regime, not one that's slightly controlling, and they have good reason for that control. America stands for freedom, as alot of people have said around the years, but a completly free nation would be chaotic, and lawless. America isn't facist, so you people out there, take a note of that and stop exagerating to these things to the extreme where it becomes pure fantasy. People are going so far to call bush the anti-god, and these remarks are an insult to those who died under truly oppresive nations. A few examples: communist russia, nazi germany, facist italy, fudal japan ect. please don't insult these peoples memory by calling bush's administration facist, because it only suggests that these countrys were for freedom, and were not mad murderes. A complete idiocy. *end of rant*
Ps. just so we clear this up, I am not a racist person, I like people of all coulers races and religions. I do not support the bush administration, but I do not beleive it is facist.

you make an excellent point. i do not like bush in the slightest, yet he is in no way shape or form anything like a "true" facist.
ive come across a few ppl proclaiming him facist but i havent heard of any calling him the "anti-god". calling bush a facist is a completely outlandish exaggeration...but calling him an "anti-god"...i dont even know what to say about that..i mean what does that imply god is, if bush is the "anti-god"??
ridiculous.

Lena you said "Trying to give a nation democracy is not opressing them."
Trying to FORCE a country to accept democracy is opressing them. He is trying to FORCE Iraq to become a democracy and he refuses to pull our people out of there until his agenda is met. Maybe we should just get out of there and let them decide for themselves.

i guess you werent looking for responses, but just a reason to vent your "unbiased canadian" opinion.
sorry to have interrupted your rant.

I decided to read the definition of fascist before answering. From what I read and from what I have seen; he is a form of fascist. He doesn't care about the country as a whole. He cares about his agenda. I won't say the administration is fascist cause there are so many in it that are against Bush. But he himself - I thank God we have a system in place that holds him in for I fear he would go nuts and truly go the fascist route if it were not for that system.

Well if you feel that he does care about this country then please reply to my discussion about Bush. I am giving people the opportunity to defend him and show me good he has done for us.
I didn't say the country is fascist cause it isn't. I said that if given the chance HE could become fascist. Heck he has shown this with his vetoes.
Congress is representing the people and they are the voice of the people and yet he doesn't want to hear that voice.

You are invited to post a reply to my discussion asking what good Bush has done for us. Many including myself can't find any (ok so I am happy about the partial birth abortion ban but that's it).
Please be a Bush supporter who will actually do so.

No the Bush Administration itself is not fascist I don't think. But I do think the US government and my government (UK) and other western governments are in a position where they could do more to defend the human rights of the forign nationals working in sweatshops for western companies like Nike and Gap etc, if you see what I mean.
If the CEO of Nike commits fraud he would probably go to jail. But everyday people working in their sweatshops are orced to do extra unpaid work and nothing is done to discourage Nike from using these forign companies that treat the workers like that.
In this sense, our governments are fascist, putting money and our own people first. Ofcourse it's not our job to regulate human rights in other countries, but we can make laws to stop companies from our own countries from using manufaturers that abuse peoples human rights in ways that we would find unacceptable in our own countries.
