Last year I bought myself a home theater system. It is an RCA RTD 258. It can be found at Http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/en-US/modeldetail.html?ProductID=RTD258 Oh was that something to type since I can't paste! Anyway, so this year I bought myself a Samsung 32" LCD Widescreen HDTV. So now I'm trying to figure some things out. The Home theater system has HDMI w/HD Upconversion. It looks like on the website if I connect the HDMI cable from the TV to the DVD player it would conver things to HD. Correct? But I can't get HD DVD's... correct? However, if I bought the HDMI cable and did the hookup I could watch DVD's with the Upconversion? Man... I used to be kind of smart with technology. I'm getting bad these days...TOO MUCH technology.

HDMI is the one that converts everything to HD even if it's an analog feed.

Technology makes my head hurt!! My husband knows that stuff but I don't really have a clue except for the basics. He wants a Samsung television when we move into our new house. Sorry I can't help you any...I doubt you want my expertise.:)

oh me too me too. I guess I'll have to find some place else to ask my questions. I used to always ask my dad but even this technology is behind him. My ex-boyfriend could control his tv upstairs in his bedroom with a keyboard and also access his computer and his television downstairs on it. He was all technical nerdy. I can't ask him anymore though. I guess I could always buy a dvd and see if it works!
