Do you hve groundhogs where you live? I was talking to someone and they asked me what a groundhog was! I was really suprised, I mean, had they not even heard of groundhog day?! I guess not! I thought groundhogs were everywhere. We have one that lives under our shed. He's getting brave though, he slammed his head into our sliding glass doors today!

lol--- too funny- I'm not sure if they are around here but of course I know what they are- Groudhog day-- will there be 6 more weeks of winter- Is it ever right? Not in NY-- A couple of years ago- the groundhog came out wrapped in a Terrible towel- it's the year Pittsburgh went to the superbowl and won! Gotta love Phil!

We do have a groundhog here as he must live in the woods behind our sheds here in my townhouse community or he may be living under our sheds. He has been showing himself more ever since I put my birdfeeder out in my backyard. Yesterday he was on my backyard and it appeared he was chowing down on bird food that was on the ground. He is pretty big and cute and must have been really hungry. He also tore up one of the cats in the neighborhood. The cat survived fortunately.

I'm in Australia & nope, i don't think we have groundhogs - i have heard about them but only from that stupid move about 'Groundhog Day' where he repeats every day to fix things! Bill Murray & Andy McDowell i think! I guess they're not everywhere then, maybe they're like the animals we have here & only live in the states? Or not even in all the states, just some of them!

I have not seen any groundhogs here but I bet we have them...I see chipmunks, deer, turkeys, quail, and red fox here often.... In the paper today, it said that they saw two black bears in Bull Shoals which is only about 8 mile from me.... I also thought everyone had heard of a groundhog..... Did your groundhog hurt himself when he ran into your sliding glass doors??? I hope not...they are interesting creatures.....I love wildlife....

Chipmunk - This is a chipmunk eating an acorn...they resemble a squirrel....but have beautiful stripes of tawney brown and white running down their backs....
Awww---I love to see the babies of all of the creatures in the area...they are so cute!!! I uploaded a photo of a chipmunk....they favor a squirrel except they have a beautiful tawney and white stripes running down their backs.....hope you enjoy!

I don't know if I've ever seen a groundhog in person, besides at the zoo maybe? I've definitely heard of them, though. :) We have dackrats, or ground squirrels here. They are really brave, like your groundhog. They run right in if you leave the door open. They get in at my husband's work a lot. So they chase them all around, and try to stomp them with their boots! My small dog jumps our fence to chase and kill them, so we never have any at our house for long. I kind of feel sorry for them.

We do not have groundhogs in Australia. I only knew about them through that movie "Groundhog Day"...and my friends in the States were surprised when I was fascinated by squirrels too - we don't have them here either...
