Gone with the Wind is one of my mom's favorite books. I read Mary Higgins Clark books and I find her main characters are always very likable and interesting. I like the Harry Potter characters too. I also love Alice from Alice in Wonderland.:)

LOL...who are you calling sick?! I only recently read them. I had never paid attention to the hype following them until a friend of my husband sent them for me to read. They were pretty good and it honestly surprised me. I won't be dressing up as Harry at any bookstores though.:)

now about gone with the wind and scarlet o'hara... hmmmmmm... I have rather a big personal problem with her... I wont read it out of a principle:D... I hate her from the movies... I was obligated, in some bad conjuncture, to watch way to much movies based on the book... i prefer other kinds of books:)

I love so many of the characters I have read of over the years. But, if I had to choose just one, I think it would have to be Ayla. From the Earth's Children series by Jean Auel. Such a strong woman character.
She's force to really grow up fast, and it's great to feel the childlike wonderment shen she learns new things and can act young again.
