Which Decade would you consider

as being the worst decade for fashion?
I really think it was the mid 60's to the mid 70's with hiphuggers, tight shirts, skull caps, stripes in all directions, bell bottoms, elephant bottoms, thick heeled clunky boots.
kind of weird how fashion seems to repeat itself.

my memory of the 80s and 90s was wool a line skirts, high collared blouses with ruffles and puffy sleeves..or civil war type soldier styled shirts where the front crosses over to one side like a flap to be buttoned...
and the pants were baggies, tight at the waist, flared at the hips and tight at the ankles and sometimes ankles and shins.
our hair was feathered and big! our shoes were clogs. with wooden soles. clunk clunk clunk

I loved the fashion of that era! It was so bright, colourful, fun, psychedelic and out there man! LOL.
Other fashions are drab by comparison, especially winter colours like black, grey, navy, brown, maroon. Why can't the designers pick lovely bright jewel colours for winter instead of sombre, even dowdy colours. We could have fuschias, reds, purples, sapphire blues and emerald greens, topaz. There are so many.

For me it was the mid to late 70's when someone thought polyester was a good idea. I loved both the mod look of the 60's and the denim painted jeans and chukka boot style of the late 60's and 70's. I think I scared my parents at age 8 when I showed a perference for hippy sheik. I was saved a little bit in the late seventies up to 80 by going to a preppy high school. Cotton was Back!! I was able to avoid alot of the gaudier styles of the 80's by sticking mostly to jeans and sweatshirts in college.

I loved the 60's for clothes, probably because I was skinny back then and looked good in hiphuggers and mini skirts. I still like bell bottoms today. Also loved the tie-dyed stuff.
I think the 80's was the worst decade, with all the spandex, leg warmers, and shoulder pads.

To me, the worst fashion decade was the 1980's. Everyone permed their hair and didn't even bother to comb it. Shoulder pads really got popular, and sailor insignias were all the rage on men's shirts. I never got that.

hehe, looking back shoulder pads were a bit silly on us, weren't they? I hated shoulder pads, personally, because I already had broad shoulders.
one of the first things my now husband ever said to me was while we were walking out of the hospital (I volunteered, he was a staff member) he grabbed at my shoulder pads and said, what are you a football player in drag! big shoulders deep voice.....ooooooo, I was not happy! I said a very not nice thing in retort.
somehow we ended up getting married 3 years later.
lol, guess it was not so bad after all, those shoulder pads broke the ice (and nearly his jaw! just kidding ;) )

I really have to agree with you. When I see the kids today wearing stuff I was embarrassed to wear back then when there was no choice. Just think about the hair and the polyester jump suits. Ewww, it still makes me cringe !!

I agree with the time period you chose. All that polyester, and the polka dots...I am scarred for life. When bell bottoms came around a second time, I nearly fainted, and when they came around a third it was all I could do to keep myself from shrieking. At least they aren't plaid anymore.

worst decade for fashion? definitely the eighties...i mean what were those people thinking about when they started using the the really bright (not to mention never matching) clothes? and don't let me start with the whole "i've just been electricuted" hairstlye...i am just grateful that that fashion era is over...i just hope it never comes back again...who knows, fashionistas are trying to bring back the clothes of the oast..i've seen clothes from the 60's,70's coming back...i hope they neer think of bringing back theeighties otherwise i will seriously die of laugter...

Well,as i can see on the television shows before, its their taste. They are also enjoying and seems that they do also liked what they are wearing. Really look weird of course,if you're not used to it. You are actually right. It's kinda weird fashion..aheheh
