Talking to the winds

It has became part of my stress coping mechanism, to remember the times which I first dabbled into magick. New to this side of reality, all fluffy and stupid, I spent a lot of time practicing skills which I have set aside now. One of these is what I call 'universal channel'.
I'm not too sure what the 'proper' term for it, but what I meant to say, is the ability to communicate with the unseen. I now know the dangers if used improperly, but when I started out, I tried it on a lot of entities I met. My fondest memories are that of the wind spirits, strange but beautiful, delicate yet powerful.
At this point, I pretty sure most of the readers think I'm a fruit cake. Personally, I don't care. It doesn't matter if it was all in my mind. What matters is that I learned a lot from the experience.
Whenever life seems too big to handle, like now, I go back to those times, when I talked to the winds. It reminds me that we are infinitely small in an endless universes. Our problems, no matter how big it appears to us, is tiny in the grand scheme of things. The answers are all there, if we choose to listen.
Have you talked to the winds?

Well I dont think you are a fruitcake at all and if others think you are then I'm one too LOL and like you I really dont care (what others think) because bottomline is this, when I needed help/peace/answers or whatever the case may be...it was the "unseen" that I got it from above anyone or anything else...

No, I don't think you are a fruitcake. I am not completely Wiccan but I have been thinking about it. My boyfriend is and I am trying to learn from him. But anyways, your discussion reminded me of something similar, and you'll probably think I am a fruitcake.lol. But whenever I talk to my dog,(the one in my avatar that passed away last October), the wind will blow and I get this strange feeling, kind of like a confirmation. Its hard to explain but I sense him near me. One day I was out talking to him and the wind gently blew a tree branch down and it tenderly touched my shoulder, as if to say, its ok I am here.

Ah, the Wind Spirits. Yes, I love to talk to them. I love to work with them and other weather spirits as well. We dance, and talk together often......
Yes, I talk with the winds at least weekly, You do not sound crazy at all to me. The Winds guide help and protect me, along with other types of Spirits. I usually refer to Thunder Spirits, when I talk about my spirit work, but the real spirits I am working with are the Spirits of the Winds, Rains, Earth, and Fire.
Nice to meet another wind talking friend.

I have indeed talked to the winds, though actually dealing with water spirits is more my specialty these days. =p
For a long time, my favorite meditation was a "flying meditation". I became really immersed in the element of air, and I still prefer to use it to get rid of excess energy rather than "grounding" like many people do. It just works better for me. When I try to use earth to do so, my conciousness seems to sink in it and get "stuck", if that makes any sense.
I think most kinds of element spirits are very interesting because their priorities and viewpoints are so different from their own. When I was a very young child, my grandmother on my mother's side (who was drunk at the time) decided to use the old "throw the kid in the river to teach them to swim" method one me. It didn't work. What I remember from that time was water spirits bearing me to shore, and even a relative of mine who doesn't really have any faith in such things claims he saw it. Therefore my interest in the element of water more so than any other element, though air is definitely a close second. I tend to go to water if I need energy, and air if I need to get rid of it. =p

Well I talk to trees, animals, and stones..so no you're not a fruitcake and if you are, so am I!
I didn't start doing these things until a year or so after I started practicing (which at that point had been a year or so after lots of researching lol). I've always been an super cautious girl..but I think talking to the wind..or trees..or stones, isn't really crazy. There was a science report once that plants, specifically flowers respond to our voice. Some seem to feel what passes for emotions.
Who's to say stones or the wind doesn't also under most of the skeptic's beloved science?
*smiles* There is something comforting about it though, isn't there? Talking to something few other people take the time to notice, let alone attempt to drum up a conversation.
