Ok since i preach positive thinking. I have decided to start practicing it a little harder. This means that every time i have a negative thought it will be replaced with a positive thought. So on moving to Arizona. I will get the place to live, that i want. i will have enough money to live and I WILL be happy! I am going home.
On my romance situation; I am fine with just me. I don't need anyone to make me happy. I am happy. if something falls in my lap then i will take it. other wise Im fine the way things are for now.
Ok Now its your turn. i want you to find a negative thought and turn it into a positive and believe it will happen. Come on you can do i have faith in ya!! Ill help ya :)

Me thinks I should take a leaf out of your book, no scrub that, a whole volume I think! PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) I can do it at the gym when I'm lifting heavy weights and to make the full set, just have to adopt PMA in every day life. I know you have great faith in me and yes you are right, out of bad comes good, it's training the mind. When you're mind is full of negativity you have to flush em out like evil poisonous toxins and flood in positivity, trouble is when you have depression the road is uphill and rockier!

I kept saying for a while that I would not be able to get a new car anytime soon but possibly this weekend I will be getting a new car. It took a while to get some debts paid off and lowered but I did it and should be getting a new car soon. I too try teaching positive thinking to my students and everytime they say that they can not do something, I tell them yes you can do it. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. Positive thinking will get us farther in life than negative thinking.

Good deal. Keep those negatives from running your life. I would go a step further, in fact several steps further. I acknowledge a negative thought, let it pass and then replace it with something positive. I am also then thinking in terms of what I do want in my life. Most of the time, the negative thoughts are about our fears and things we don't want to have happen. Now that I have my thoughts in line with what I want for myself, I try to think of ways to take some action toward making those thoughts become real.
You can have all the positive thinking and thoughts of what you want to have happen in your life, but they will do little good unless you take some kind of action in the direction of those thoughts. Actually the process should go like this; thoughts, visualization, ideas, action.
So in your case, You might have had thoughts about moving, then thought about places to move to, then had a great idea about moving back to Arizona and then you took some actions to make that dream come true. Since you have decided to move to Arizona, the ONLY way you can look at it is from the positive side. Why make the move being in fear? If you let them, those fears will turn your move to Arizona into exactly whatever it is your fear most. So you are taking the right steps to see this move in its most positive light. See you at the Grand Canyon...lol

I desperately need to find the money to have some plumbing repairs done and fix my septic. Council threatened to fine me on the spot for my drain pipes and have given me till early 2009 to have my septic up to scratch. I've just taken out a loan to have my house cladded as the wood is starting to rot and it looks terrible. I've had to take the loan over ten years so I can afford to pay it back. There are just too many things to take care of and not enough money. It's really great to have my own place though and my little village while not beautiful id certainly mostly peaceful and quiet.
I didn't do very well did I? I'm trying to think that things will happen as i want them but it doesn't make any sense...lol.

Sorry Sis can't help with this one - I too do my best to live a 'positive thinking' life and work too too hard to keep negative thoughts out of my mind - I just can not spoil that with intentionally thinking a negative just to replace it... :) Love, peace, joy, kindness - all of these things for you my dear dear friend :)

I tried, in fact until my hair got burnt. I can list a lot of negative thoughts but unable to replace it with a positive one. I just do not know how to do it. Perhaps you can share how you replace a negative thought with a positive thought and believe it will happen. Just take this example. By hook or by crook, I need to have my assignment submitted by tomorrow before noon and it is only half complete. I have barely 12 hours left. I need sleep now. How can you help?

ok , how about I am not losing my baby status - my twin sister is older than me - but only by a few minutes! lol Seriously I do the positive thinking about - I try not to think of the negative things to start with if I can help it - so that first example is all you are getting! xxx

I beleive that positive thinking can really turn things positive for me, mssnow! In fact just yesterday, I started a discussion on the movie, "The Secret". It's based on the law of attraction which says that we attract what we think and what we actually are.
I think that one can take something positive even from an apparent negative. It happens all the time in life. Like for example, my wife lost some jewelry and was worried about it. I told her that may be it wasn't good for her to keep, it is possible that losing that may turn out to be better in some way that we don't understand. I have had experiences in my life where something appeared really bad and negative but later turned out to be very positive. Like I loosed top spot in my 10th grade which really made me upset as I was so longing for that top position. That loss turned my attention to other things in my life, like my family, friends, the problems of poor people around me and my other responsibilities. Had I topped then, I couldn't be such a versatile personality that I now enjoy to be. Plus it gave me really a good perspective of my shortcomings, hence a totally bad appearing thing came out to be positive.
If I lose some competition, I think that it is positive not only in the sense that other person who won would be happy but also that I have more work to do to merit it. Sometimes when I get injured and lose blood, I think that it's good as I'll have new blood to replace. If I miss a train or bus and it wasn't my fault, I think that it wasn't probably better for me and in some cases it turned out to be so, as in some instances that bus got accident.
I think there are always two ways to approach something, a positive one and a negative. Positive one will always give peace of mind and bliss while negative will create yet more panic and suffering.
