Yes I've tried Oolong Tea - it's a dark Chinese tea, and doesn't taste at all like English Breakfast Tea or Lipton Tea that is commonly served in the UK. It's not taken with sugar, but is not like Earl Grey tea either.
It's a type of Chinese Red Tea (as opposed to green tea) and tastes like most other chinese teas to the non-trained tongue (such as mine). My favourite Chinese Tea is the Tie Guan Yin (or Iron Buddha - literal translation) Tea. It has a unique scent and lingering taste in the mouth. The Oolong tastes 'harder' and is slightly more bitter, depending on which grade Oolong you try.
Yes, chinese teas have powerful anti-oxidant qualities and help in de-toxing, which is where the weight loss attributes come in, I expect. Try a small packet to see whether you like it first before committing to buy a whole box of oolong tea leaves. Don't add sugar. (: Cheerio.
Btw, I think this is my 500th mylot post, whee!!! finally!!!

I did because of the promise of losing weight. Now I'm not tea drinker but I figured I could force myself specially if it will really help me lose weight. Unfortunately, even though it does taste like regular tea, not disgusting at all, I still couldn't force myself. So I really did not use it long enough to see the results.

I'm not really a tea drinker, but was considering it because I heard it might help me to lose weight. If it tastes like regular tea, then i'm ok with that. Thanks for your response uiwwitch.

I drink the tea rather regularly because it is sugar free and has zero calories. As in any chinese tea, it is supposed to help cleanse the body of oily strains but does it help to lose weight? I heard green tea can do a better job. Plain water
does as well with zero calories.

I have never tried Wulong tea but I do drink Oolong tea a lot. My mom is a diabetic and a few years back she weighed over 300lbs. She since then put herself on a diet and drank Oolong tea everyday. She said that the tea helps to control her blood sugar and her diet. She has managed to drop her weight down to 246lb. I am truly proud of her! I myself don’t know if it has helped me because I am not on a diet, but I have maintained my weight for over a year now. I have also heard that the best “diet-tea” around is the Green Tea, I haven’t tried it though. I wish you all the luck on your diet quest. Although, I am pretty sure that you are fine just as you are:)

I used to get the Sobe Oolong tea, as well as having some at some restaurants. I can't testify to any weight loss help, but I can tell you it tasted similar to other teas, but not exactly. Reminded me more of green tea than any other black tea.
