Prathiba Patil is Indias new presidential candidate?

At last there is clarity in the Indian Presidential election scene. The UPA candidate is Prathiba Patil. I have a feeling that the President of India should be some prominent personalities from other fields (not politicians), like APJ Abdul Kalam. What do you think?

APJ Abdul Kalam is the present Indian President. He is a scientist and is the father of Indian ballistic missile program. Thank you.

Prathibha Patel has every chance to win the election. I feel happy because India is ready to have it's first ever female president. Dr.Abdul Kalam was fine. But in a highly polotcised country like India with all complex issues like reservation etc. a political personality is more suitable, I think.
