Is there another auction site besides Ebay?

I have been looking for another auction house to use besides Ebay. I am just looking for a different site to try out, not necessarily to sell but to buy some items that are hard to find - like college text books. Is there another popular auction site that a lot of people use?

I remember hearing that Yahoo has an auction site. Some of Amazon.com's marketplace sellers might offer auctions too, or maybe Amazon itself has links to auctions. I haven't bought any items from an auction site other than ebay myself, though.

I have bought things from Amazon's used books before, but didn't know they had auctions. I have a feeling most people sell what I am looking for - used books - just through the regular site though. I will check them both out.
