I used to take OxyContin for Cronic Pain. The doc had me taking 80mg Oxy ever 4 hours. I became addicted. I went to detox at the hospital and I started going to the pain clinic. I got off of the pills. Before I came home from the hospital I called home to tell my husband to remove the pill bottles from my area. He did. When I got home with my husband watching I removed the Oxy from my med strips and threw them away. About a week later our son Jason came to visit. He was helping clean the house and he found a bottle of pills. He asked me what they were. I looked at them and got very upset bc it was a bottle of Oxy. I told him to flush them down the toilet, to rinse out the bottle and to throw it in the trash. I heard the toilet flush, I heard him turn on the sink I saw the empty bottle in the trash. I felt safe in my home again. That night Jason went to bed early. I could hear a snoring noise coming from the room he was in. I got up the next morning and went to PT at the hospital. We got back home about 11:20 that morning. Jason's car was still in the driveway. I called his name when I came in the door. JASON WHAT ARE YOU DOIN. I got no answer. I went to the hallway and called him again. JASON WHAT ARE YOU DOING? I got no answer. I walked down the hallway calling to Jason but I Got no answer. I started to get a sick feelin in my tummy. I banged on the bedroom door calling JASON WAKE UP. But I got no answer. I started to think that maybe he went somewhere with a friend so I opened the door and looked in. I could see him sleepin in the bed so I went in calling JASON WAKE UP. JASON ANSWER MOMMY. JASON WAKE UP. But I got no answer. I reached out a took his arm to shack him awake. Why is his arm so cold? JASON! no answer. I looked at his face, his lips were blue. His fingernails were blue!!! JASON ANSWER MOMMY WAKE UP!!! But I got no answer. I called my husband for help. He came running. He told me to call for help. Well help came. They went to my son. They came back to me and said, Mame I'm Sorry There Is Nothing We Can Do. He Is Gone. Tears fell and calls were made. Police came. The funeral home people came. They took away my Little Man, My baby boy. My son. The loudest noise I ever heard was the sound of NO ANSWER from my boy. Jason V. Burton 6/6/1976 to 2/28/2005 My son was a strong healthy young man of 28yrs. He didn't flush the Oxy as I asked him to. He kept them, he crushed some and he snorted them. He made a mistake that took his life. A mistake that tok our son away from us. A mistake that took my daughters brother. A mistake that took a Daddy from two childern. Plesae don't play with OxyContin. Don't let the big sound of NO ANSWER be the last thing your family and friends hear from you.

I am so sorry to hear what happened to your son, I cant imagine the pain you and your family must be feeling, I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers, I agree oxy contin is one of the worst pain medications that ever went on the market, my brother and sister inlaw or strongly addicted to it and now they barely function.

I'm so sorry to hear that Oxy has hurt your family. I wish I could talk to them. Please if it would help tell them our story. But they have to want help. Oxy takes hold of a person and it is very hard to let go of it. You will be in my prayers too.
