How would I go about generating genuine interest?

How would I go about developing genuine interest in www.story9000.org? It's a great site off of the Pokey the Penguin website where you can read and write collaborative stories which easily connect together in multiple strands, so you never have to worry about things getting messed up. I mean, it could be a GREAT site, but nobody visits it anymore, which is a real shame.
And I absolutely don't want to spam it, but how could I get genuine interest from amiable folks who are willing to express their individuality while cooperating intelligently for mere enjoyable whimsy?
