My Road Runner Lite Broadband connection is running almost as slow as my old dial up connection. Does anyone have an idea why it might be doing that? We just got broadband this week, so maybe there's some kind of setting that needs to be changed on my computer to let it know that I'm not using dial up anymore. Any suggestions on how to make my broadband connection run faster?

You need to go into your control panel and hit network connections and change the way it connects to the Internet...

I think you may be right on this one. I never changed it over when we made the switch and I've noticed before that it's not set to any particular thing. Will give it a try. Thanks.

Mine is doing the same exact thing and it keeps freezing and saying non responsive on it. IT IS MAKING ME SOOOO MAD! I might as well go back to dial up

Hmm, I got the AT&T DSL on the lowest end and I've noticed a HUGE difference between it and dial-up. How old is your computer? If it is more than 5 years old, then that could be a reason why. The processor is not fast enough. Another reason could be the number of programs you have on your computer. Something might be competing with your connection.
Other than that, I don't know.
Good luck.

I've never had Road Runner as a service but sometimes what I do is restart the computer if it's running too slow. For me, it has worked. Have you tried that all ready?
