It is often said that if you want to "win big", then you have to think big. Do you accept this philosophy, or do you think it doesn't work? Where you have only made small improvements, could you put it down to the fact that you have not thought big enough thoughts? Have you any examples from your life where positive thinking has really worked?

Great statement there derek. For me, I do applied it in my real life to think every positive things which I believe can help make me the person I am. I even include to dream 'big' dreams not just simply to think 'big' things in life...where there's still so much opportunities around, well I must as well think 'big' and dream 'big' in this life, I think much be better in doing so :-)

i honestly feel there are two types of people in this world, big and small players. Big players will try to clear up big problems and make big advances. However, such people tend to become corrupted by politics.
The other sort of people tend to be the majority and deal with the little day by day things. These in my opinion are the real movers and shakers as they keep the whol world turning
blessed be

I believe it does work. Have you read "Think and grow rich?" It is all related to your thinking, but remember, only 15% of what we think belongs to conscious mind...you have to train your subconscious mind to believe what you want to believe....
Maybe I made it complicated, but it is not...

Thanks for posting.. No, I don't think you have made it complicated at all. Yes, Napolean Hill's book (Think and Grow Rich) was one of the first books I ever read when I began my working life.
Since then, as a therapist, my view is still the same, but I often have to help my clients get rid of very powerful negative beliefs that often stand in the way of them making positive changes to improve matters in their life.

unless you are willing to get off you butt and do the work, thinking big is just that thinking. Albert Einstein, who was a world renown thinker had to actually work, and he to the best of my knowledge was never a rich man. So think big, but put an even bigger effort behind the thought and see how that works for you. I can think of at least 6 ways to make a million dollars, but unless I am willing to do the work required, it will remain wishful thinking.

Yes, you are absolutely right there. There has to be a balance of thinking and acting or nothing will work without some incredible luck, and then the achievement won't seem like an achievement at all.
When I was in my 30s I was investing in property and could see quite easily how I could get to that millionaire status, but I had a realisation, that somewhere inside me, that was not where I wanted to go (perhaps my soul/spirit didn't want this?).
I redirected my energies onto my work as a therapist, and therapists do not become millionaires - unless they are therapists to the stars that is. Now, I can say I enjoy the challenge, but the "destination" is of now importance to me.

Positive thinking makes you feel better, perhaps. We have a saying that it is good to aim high - higher than your goal - because even if you fail, you will likely hit your original mark.
I haven't really seen any personal success from thinking bigger or positive thinking. Just a load full of crap.

I think we need to be specific and look to see what we want. That's the "thinking big" or "thinking small" part. If we think it is "too big" then we won't get it, if we look and see that it is achievable, that is the beginning. Then we need to act on it to be able to achieve it, and know what we are doing.

Yes, because beliefs tend to come real in life, they are a lot more powerful than most people think. Sadly, many people tend to see a lot of negative things that may go wrong, and this tends to drag them down a bit.
Persnally, I tend not to believe things. It is OK for me to say that because I have got to be in life where I was aiming for now and now I just like to observe what happens... Thanks for posting.
