1. Bring your own house. 2. If you are going to the Oil Sands, bring your own house, school, and hospital. 3. If you are going to Edmonton, wear your flak jacket. This is the murder capital of Canada. 4. If you are driving to Edmonton, note that it is also the auto theft center of Canada. 5. If you are bringing drugs, head straight to Fort McMurray, the drug capital of Canada. 6. If you are looking for work, look no further. Minimum wage is $5.60 per hour. 7. If you work downtown, note that parking costs $5.00 per hour or more. 8. If you are able to buy a house in Edmonton, or Calgary, why not spend the money on a 15 year holiday. 9. If you drive a Hummer, look out. Alberta has the highest gas prices in Canada[The Alberta Advantage]. 10. In Edmonton we have 5 hospitals. 10 years ago we had 7. Don't Come here sick. 11. In Calgary the population has exploded. The last road was paved 12 years ago. Calgary is a no parking zone. 12. Remember when Roy Rogers etc. were beating the Indians? Well it's payback time. They own all the Casinos here.

I am actually visiting Calgary right now and the number of changes to the city in the 3 years since we moved is amazing. Shock #1 though has to be the price of houses. We couldn't afford to move back now even if we wanted to. It seems as though the entire city is under construction at the moment and I actually ran into my old boss at the mall yesterday and he was hoping I was moving back as he had a job for me and wanted me to start right away...he's having a tough time hiring.

Everyone is. It takes forever to get a phone call for jobs in Edmonton, because employers don't have the staff to spare to make the calls and set up the interviews. Rental prices are INSANE here.. they've increased the rent on apartments as much as $600 in some areas of the city. I don't imagine Calgary's much better, I think I'll tough it out in this area for a few more years for the money and then hightail it back to BC.

Interested but you got some things wrong. I thought Winnipeg was the murder capital of Canada. We are also competing with you as the auto theft center of Canada and the revolving door center of Canada. The police arrest them and the judge releases them because "oh the poor kids, they're native and they do need a little recreation. There's another thing that Winnipeg is the head of robbers picking on visitors by stealing toys and presents the visitors have in their trunks and back seats. Oh and about casinos, there are quite a number of people suffering from gambling addiction, but what does the Manitoba Government do, build more casinos and put more one-armed bandits in bars so people can lose more money.
