Talked to my wonderful niece. Hee hee. First off seems she didn't want to go to the bar after all. She had taken him out for dinner. Then being as he is he said one beer is all let's stop. Being as she is just like him she said okay. They hadn't been in the bar long enough to drink even half the beer before he was arrested by an off duty cop there that recognized him and knew the case. So he appeared at court but the woman (GF) didn't show. So the case has been continued again. She says that his public defender feels he will get this case thrwon out as the GF doesn't appear to want to testify. They delayed court as they tried to call and visit her at her new home. Her mothers. Her mom said she never came there and she doesn't live there and has no idea where she could be. This GF is also a driunk. I tell you I am so happy I gave up drugs and alcohol long ago. She didn't show I feel robably out of fear of him and his actions. The courts issued a supena for her & another date set in July some time. If she doesn't show there's nothing that can be done because she can't be forced to testify. So we shall see where this circus travels to next. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Thanks for the update Bob, I can see the GF being leary of testifying but what's to stop him from doing it again. Really sad also is the fact that in a month she'll probably be back with him 'having fun'... I must say I don't miss the booze one bit - 4.5 years and not a drop, not even a sip.

Well seems that son learned the rules of life and relationship from his mother very well. Grats on teaching him this part of life.

Yep, this is the same son that punched a guy one night then got in the car and had his GF drive him to the police station to turn himself in. Police didn't know what to do as they'd never had anyone do that. People asked him why and he said because that's what Mom would've done (Mom took him in for stealing hood orniments one time).

Sopunds like the girlfriend, who is not much better than your brother, doesn't want to have any further involvement with him. Thats one more loss for your brother. Will he never learn? Some people need to learn the hard way. I say this about many kids. But your brother is not even learning the hard way from his mistakes. I bet his daughter regrets being so tolerant of him.

Who knows when or if he will ever learn actually. And as far as my niece......hmmmmmm? That relationship is getting a bit tough to deal with now also. Anyhow thanks for the response. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Isn't that a shame, so if his drunk girlfriend does not testify against he will be let out to the community to do this again, isn't life grand?? I would seriously think about writing to that judge, perhaps a little nudge from his brother will turn a new light on the judge to take some action against this brother of yours.

Ugh!!! Seems like it's just a cycle without an end. I'm happy you quit all that crap as well, Grandpa Bob. You could of ended up in worse shape, never know. Hell, I'm glad I never started even thou I was tempted by numerous 'friends'.

Well, my friend, you really can not blame her for being afraid of him.....he did set the bed she was in...on FIRE!!! That would scare anybody then through in her addictions and it does not paint a stable picture.... I know that this is difficult for you though...even if you do not associate with your brother...he is still family and that is hard to take... Take care of yourself.....

Well I'm at least glad to hear that your niece didn't take him there for his gift- knowing that he wasn't supposed to be there- Still they both should have none better- No bars means no bars- especially since his crime was so bad- I think it was- alot of people lost their homes and possessions. Keep us updated on how he makes out- if she doesn't testify looks like he won't get the help he so needs.

Gee, this is starting to sound like my favorite tv soap opera....only this one is REAL! LOL I hope he doesn't get away with it. That would be so sad, and it would make yet another blemish on our lovely justice system.

This new development is just so unfortunate, Grandpa Bob. I'm still hoping that your brother will be 'forced' by the courts into some type of rehabilitation program. That's of course, if his case even gets heard in court, due to all of the circumstances. I'm thankful for you, that you've turned your life around. Your gardening skills, love of life, etc. are all wonderful things you can now share with your family and friends ... even those of us on myLot.:)

It sounds like the Gf is not going to show up and your brother is going to get off on those charges. But what about the other people who lived in the apartment house? It seems that they would also have a say in the charges no?
