Do you own a kite and do you enjoy flying it? I like to do this, and so do all my family. I'm not into the new fangled ones... I'm quite happy with the old fashioned type. The best time to fly them is in autumn, when the wind is quite strong, but in the summer, I can go onto the South Downs, or onto the beach and find a stiff breeze quite often. I find it quite exhilarating a thing to do, and soothing at the same time. Do you fly a kite? Do you prefer the stunt kites, the old fashioned type, or what is your preference. There are many sizes and shapes and it's quite a popular pastime here. So what are your preferences?

That's an idea. My grandson taught me that to avoid a nose dive, which I also often achieved, you have to pull gently on the strings, so that it catches the air currents. Still couldn't fathom it for a while, but I got quite good at it in the end. lol.

I used to love flying kites. I dont do it much now. The kids all have kites, but we havent got them out in quite a while. I enjoy the simple ones, which the kids have. They are enough trouble. I love seeing all these great big fancy ones soaring through the air, but i dont think i would want to try them myself. I would get quite tangled i think! You dont see them around here much. But it is something that will be good during these holidays for the kids. Thanks for the idea. Best wishes to you, Darkwing

You're welcome, Kay. I'm sure the kids will love to have their kites out again, and fly them. I saw one of the bigger, more fancy ones flying down on the beach today, but it was raining. lol. Brightest Blessings.

I haven't been out to fly a kite in years. When the kids were small we bought new kites for each at Easter time.We would go out to the field after breakfast and each would learn the art of kite stuck in the wires or trees! hehe xoxoxo

Lol... it sounds as though you had fun, but I'll bet the kids soon got fed up. Did you have a go yourself? I still fly them with my grandchildren sometimes. :)
