I think my fiance and I eat too mch takeaway. We eat it at least twice a week. Although if I have an option of what to eat, I'll ucually go for Subway and jut get a plain salad sub as burgers and fries tend to make me feel lethargic and bloated. It's not cheap either. It costs us between $10 and $20 (Au) depending on where we eat and I often think about how much fresh food I could have bought to cook up a healthy meal at home. I'm alway telling him we need to cut down our takeaway consumption but the trouble is, t's just so damn convenient! (and tasty) How often do you eat takeaway?

We would be lucky as a family to eat takeaway once every few months. Partly it is the expense. But also my husband is allergic to gluten, which is present in nearly all take away food. After my daughter does swimming training, her & I occasionally have takeaway. We both have Subway. Two mornings each week my daughter & I have to get up very early, at 4.00 am & 5.00 am, & this is too early to prepare breakfast. As there is no where at swimming I can make my own breakfast, I have to buy Macs breaky. None of it is prticularly healthy, & all of the breakfast options are high in calories.

Yes the breakfast menus are very unhealthy. Perhaps you could buy those breakfast bars or Sanitarium Up and Go's. They fill you up and are healthy for you. I feel sorry for you and your daughter having to get up that early in Winter!!

yup i realized i eat too much take out food that it's completely unhealthy. i find myself too busy to cook my own food which is why i'd rather go for takeout which is instant. it's completely unhealthy, with all the fats plus less vitamins and stuff but i just find it more tasty. sometimes i'm just not in the mood to eat so i have to look for the best tasting food and i can only find that in certain fastfoods. or at least my system is just designed to take in McDonalds cheeseburger and fries even if i'm not in the mood to eat.

To be honest I try to avoid take away foods as much as possible these days. It is unhealthy and usually too expensive. A local chinese take away is great but expensive, the local curry house is, again great but expensive and burgers and the like are generally more greasy and fatty than tasty and healthy. These days a take away is a treat of us, maybe once a month

We rarely eat takeaway - you can make good tasty and nutrtious food at home as quickly as it takes for them to deliver a pizza AND you'll know what's in it. Even Subway is pretty high in fat, especially those dressings. Those subs may look healthy but they are deceiving. I forget the stats but I'll see if i can dredge them up...

We've been trying to not get as much takeaway recently, both because of the expense and the fact that it isn't really healthy. Generally, if we aren't going to eat at home, I prefer to go to a nicer restaurant, because I've discovered that we spend only a little bit more that way. For example, for two of us to eat at Subway, it costs about $20 (US), but to go to a nice sit-down restaurant and have our meal brought to us, it's only about $30, even with a tip. One idea on how you could avoid takeaway but still have convenient food is to buy a few frozen meals or other convenient meals and keep them at home. That way, you will know you have something that won't take long to cook at home, it's probably a bit cheaper than takeaway, and likely to be healthier as well. :)

We almost never eat takeout here. Maybe once every couple months as a special treat and it will be subway as we are vegetarian except the boyfriend. I love the veggie subs but I make they way cheaper at home so it is a treat to me as to not have to prepare it but other than that takeout isn't worth it. It isn't really convient for us though cause we live about 25 minutes away from the closest town where there is takeout so I guess that helps. LOL

I don't eat fast food now as often as i used to but we have a shop here called Marks and Spensers which along with house furniishing, clothes also seel sfood and it is so convienant but made with the freshest ingredients so I often buy out of there. There grapes and perfect, washed and packaged in really good stuff (totally enviromentally unfriendly) there sandwiches are luxurious and lovely, they sell mashed potatoes with cream that are glorious and even their microwave meals only are best for for about 3 days and come with no need to pierce for convienence. It is expensive though.

We probably eat take out too often too, I don't like to but when we are in town doing our shopping my husband will see a burger place and he will decide he's hungry and he just gets so hateful when he is hungry it isn't worth it to me to try to make him wait until we get home, but i hate how much gets spent on the unhealthy crap each week. Have you seen the move I'm Lovin' It? It's a documentary about what happens if all you eat is fast food and it's gross. You should watch it.
