Luckily, we have never had an ant problem. I'm so thankful for that. My mother in law, however, has a serious problem with ants every year around this time. She has done everything in her power to try to make them stop coming, but nothing is working. She always find the ants near her kitchen sink, and then they crawl on the counter top. She has removed all food from being stored on the counter, and has disinfected, sprayed and even set traps all over the counter and near the sink to make them stop. NOthing works. She had her husband crawl under the house (they have a under the house storage area) and spray around the pipes of the kitchen sink, thinking that was where they were coming, but still not working.
I have heard many others complain about an outbreak of ants each year, and have no idea how to stop them or where they come from.
I'm glad we don't have that. It would drive me crazy.
Good luck with your ants!

If she finds something that works please let me know and if I find something that works I will let you know so you can tell her.
I used some disinfectant spray. I think I actually bought it at the dollar store. It doesn't smell bad and works really good. I wiped down everything on my counter and sprayed around the door where they seem to be coming from.
I wonder if all that grub and ant killer we put on the lawn is chasing them inside.

I will let her know to tell me if she finds a product that works. I was going to suggest Boric Acid to her. It is something we used when we lived in our apartment that was bug invested, and it worked well. I'm not sure if it works for ants or not though. Tis the season for ants, that's for sure. I'm so glad we don't have to deal with that here. We are lucky to not have mice here either, I think our cats help us out with that. lol

mix equal amounts os baking soda and powdered sugar and sprinkle where the ants are..when the ants eat the baking soda (they can't tell the difference with the sugar) then they will blow up and die..
