Do You Ever Itch Somewhere You Hate To Itch?

I hate to get an itch on the bottom of my foot when wearing shoes. I can't get to scratch the itch and I cant rub my foot on anything to stop the itching, so it drives me nuts.
I also get quite frustrated when I get an itchy back and I can't reach the area that it's itching. I have a backscratcher but it's a bit harsh on the skin, so I tend not to use it if I can help it. I grab anything that might help, but usually find it useless. So, I act the big bear, and rub my back up and down the door frame, lol. I must look a sorry sight! When I'm in company though, I'll ask somebody to scratch my back for me... not my feet though, ewwwwwwww. lol.
Where are you worst itchy areas, and how do you get them to stop itching? (I can see some fun answers coming here.) :)

Good question, and interesting Post. But you won't get a rise out of me.:-)
I'm telling you that an itch is all in your head. Concentrate on something else and your itch will go away. I do it all the time, have done it for years, and it works Everytime.
I'm a Yogi, and I learned this trick while, "looking within."

I had shingles about ten years ago but the whole of the rib cage, back and shoulder are very tender and even now it is almost impossible to scratch them, and of course a shoulder blade is a prime target for a rotten itch to settle itself in, isn't it!

Well, I didn't have far to go to be totally insane anyways lol. But yes, it is very difficult, not as painful as it was during the first year but whenever I am tired the old pain comes back and it is really awkward then because I can't even lean back in a chair.
Naturally the shoulder then decides to leap into itch mode, sigh!

ok my mind was in the gutter just then and I gave a roar of gut wrenching laughter when I read that title Darkwing honey! I do get a lot of itching in my lower leg and foot and cos of my back I can't bend to scratch it and relieve the itch! I can see you scratching yourself against the door frame but be careful my other half started doing this a few months ago and now he can't pass a door frame without having a good ole rub! He is like a bear rubbing himself against a tree and he has become addicted! lol As for the rest - I fear the medication has loosened my tongue too much so I will say no more for fear of embarrassing myself! xxx

LOL.. naughty Mummymo! As for Hubby, I know how he feels... although I don't do it EVERY time I go through a door... only when I itch. Judging by the number of people who relieve back itches this way, I think we'll have a group scratch, once or twice a day, to music. Would he like to join us? lol.
Brightest Blessings my friend. xx

I have worked around children and schools enough to say that I hate to have to scratch my head. It looks as though I might have lice. Besides that, if my hair is for once in a lifetime being nice, and lovely, then scratching that itch will surely destroy it. Another impossible itch is inside my ear. Just is not anyway to take care of it. That usually means that the skin is too dry and I need to put a drop of oil in it, perhaps. I want you to know, my friend that since I opened this discussion up in my e-mail I am now itching all over, thanks to you.

How about when your ear itches and you can't scratch it because the hole is too narrow and besides that, our ears are very sensitive and delicate. Oh, how I suffer when it happens. Also when the nipple is irritated by what you're wearing, oh, my! (Rolling eyes).

I guess my worst has to be in the middle of my back, the one place I simply cannot reach. If it gets that bad, I find myself leaning against a door post and rubbing up and down to relieve the itch. I look so stupid but at least it stops the itch. The second worst place has to be when you get an itch just above your rear end (trying to be polite here folks - lol) but how can you scratch that place in public and not get stared at. LOL

Hi Darkwing, must agree with you about the feet, I got an itch on my toe whilst driving the other day and it was driving me mad as I was on the motorway and couldn't do much about it! I think another worst for me is the armpit, If I use a new deodrant it becomes irritated and really embarressing if you have to itch it in public! Brightest Blessings!

LOL what a fun discussion you started here hun! I think the worst itch one can get is when you have shoes on and you get an itchy foot and you're driving on the motorway. I don't think you're allowed to pull over onto the hard shoulder unless it's an emergency and I don't know if the police would accept "I had an itchy foot officer" as an emergency LOL! I have a personal back scratcher when I'm at home, which is my husband hehe, he says I remind him of his mum when he was growing up as she was always too lazy to really reach for those hard to get at itches and would ask one of her 4 kids to scratch her back. Well that's one reason he's around isn't it? To scratch any itches for me! x

Yes, that's what hubbies are for, but what if you get an itchy back when he's at work? Stuck then, aren't you?
I don't think a police officer would accept that you had an itchy foot whilst driving... no! Mind you... it's worth the ticket to get your shoe off and have a good scratch, and perhaps the police officer would help by scratching it for you.
Brightest Blessings my friend and thank you for your input. x

I do the bear stratch myself when my back itches...fortunately I don't get an itch too often...the worse though is getting an itch in an unmentionable area --not bad when you're home of course, but like how does one very discreetly itch down under in public?

I hate to itch full stop, but its like Pringles... once you start you just can't stop.
I think the worst place to get an itch has to be the bum.... we have all been there in the middle of a public place and then it comes, there is no cover, you try and ignor it but its no good you have to give it a good scratch, your looking round to make sure noone has seen you but its no good.... you have been spoted and no your bright red and still have an itchy bum
Nightmare or what

the more you scratch it, the more histamine will be released. the more it will itch. best way is to ignore it. too difficult, isn't it. rub with your palm. or apply lotion.
