overdraft fees are killing me

okay so last weekend I paid some bills online when I had the money to do so. well the merchants decided to not take the money out that day so once it came out of the bank I didn't have the money in there. Four things came out leaving me -$118. Then I get hit with four overdraft fees. So now I owe the bank $250!! This is so ridiculous. Yeah I know I should have written it down in my checkbook, so I don't wanna hear it.

They certainly charged you a lot for overdrafting but am sure that you will be more careful next time. Why did they not take the money out that day that you paid them? I have not had any overdrafts as of yet and hope not too. Banks do charge ridiculous overdraft fees as well as interest ratee and late fees and other charges.

I have done this on occasion and man does it make me sick. We now have that insurance where they will cash the checks if under a certain amount instead of bouncing them and then I only will have the fee to the bank. Have you looked to see if maybe your bank offers something like this?
