Guess what I just read in our local news paper? Is this right in your mind? A burgerlar entered a home on the south side earlier today and upon entering the home tripped over the dog laying infront of the window and broke his leg. The thief is now suing for damages done while inside the home!!?? According to Michigan laws a thief can sue you if he gets hurt inside your home even though he is there to rob you?!?! Is this crazy or what? What do you think about this one? Hugs

This is crazy he had no right in the house in the first place, now he wants these poor people to pay for the damage. Michigan needs to change it's law.

Well, I think that's a funny rule. He shouldn't be there in the first place.
Here int he Philippines, that would be trespassing and the owner of the house isn't responsible with whatever will happen to you inside their house.

This is more than crazy, it is STUPID! Burglars should have absolutely no rights what so ever in my opinion. THEY (the burglar) broke the law and if anything they should be thrown in jail, even with a broken leg. Sadly, there are a lot of stupid laws out there, and this is just one of them.

Did you say this is a law? Well this is a law that should be taken off the books? Imagine that guy laughing his head off about this? How many crooks will now go around that town pretending to rob someone but really only forcing themselves to trip to get a bruise or a cut or something so they can sue. Give me a break? Scream?

Yes the law is stupid a man in florida came home an found someone breaking into his hom so he pick up a rock an threw it at him to get the guy out of his house an he also got arrest ed for asault can you believe it
