Couples spend most of their time together sleeping in bed more hours than when they are awake. Most friction comes from minor differences in sleeping behavior. Snoring, rolling or rotating in bed, some cannot sleep without a fan blowing directly on him, or without a mosquito net, or not air conditioned, or with windows open while other on the contrary cannot sleep with it. What peculiar sleeping habit do you have? How did you adjust on your first few nights with your spouse? Please tell us your story.

One thing that a friend of mine who has been happily married for more than 10 years suggested to me was to have a separate blanket for each spouse. My fiance and I have started doing this, and it certainly makes it easier to sleep. Otherwise, we have a tendency to take too much of the blanket, and leave the other person without a blanket.

That is indeed a good suggestion, I remember a number of times having blanket tug of war at night when sleeping with my family members before.

I have not had any major problems adjusting to sleeping next to my love each night. We are both quite still when we sleep, and adjust our positions after eachother almost automatically. The only thing I can think of that has interupted my sleep is when my love managed to put his arm over my throat in his sleep, or when he sleeptalks. He always does that very loud and clear, so I wake up wondering what he is talking about all of a sudden. :D
