How cool is that? I think this is a wonderful thing. The #1 cause of motivation deficit in learning is an inability to understand the material. And one of the biggest causes of inability to grasp concepts, besides varying levels of intuition between individuals, is illiteracy.
If Harry Potter sparks an enthusiasm for reading that can help to spike literacy in generations of children to come, the world might one day be a better place (if we don't completely destroy it first). Thanks for the link!

A nice article, and I agree it really doesn't matter the subject of the book as long as it gets kids interested in reading again.

I have not read Harry Potter. Probably because my kids are adults. However, my daughter who is an Early Childhood/English major in college has purchased and read all of the Harry Potter books so far and is waiting for the 7th book to come out.

thanks for sharing that. I couldn't agree more. I have seen some groups trying to have Harry banned .Instead of trying to ban it ,they should be glad he's got kids reading again.
