I was married 20 yrs ago in a church. It was the typical ceremony. We didn't do anything unique. Thinking back, if I were to get married all over, I would love for it to be a small ceremony of my family and close friends on the beach. My neice is getting married next year and she is getting married at a camp ground. They will have their ceremony in a little chapel which had no heat. By the way, she is getting married in March in Western NY, so it will definitely be cold and probably snowy. They are planning on giving everyone a cup of hot choc with pepperming schnapps as they walk into the church. She is wearing her mothers wedding dress and her camp boots. The girls are all picking out their own dresses, she is just giving them 3 colors to choose from. She will have her brothers stand up for her and the groom will have his sisters stand up for them. I think that weddings are becoming more and more unique. Did you have a unique wedding or have you been to one? If you were to do it over again, or if you aren't yet married, what kind of wedding would you like to have?

If I were to do it all over again I would have a small wedding outside under a gazebo. I would want only my closest friends and family to join us and then go out with my friends instead of having a big reception. I have had the big elaborates weddings and I loved it but its something I would want to do again.

I also love the big expensive wedding/ reception. It was great fun. It was also a lot of stress and planning, and last minute this and that.

We just went to the justice of the peace and got married. Neither of us were the type to stand up infront of a crowd. I always like the way julia roberts got married at the end of runaway bride. they had a small ceremony on a cliff overlooking the ocean. it was really pretty.

My sister went to the justice of peace and got married also. They didn't tell anyone that they were getting married, so we were all surprised. We did have a reception a few months later for them. I also liked the wedding on runaway bride.

My own wedding was a simple church ceremony that was promptly follwed by a reception and merry making. But a few years a go i witnessed what i still consider a truely unique wedding ceremony. Weddings are usually extravagntly celebrated IN MY COUNTRY with BMWs and convoys of limosines lined up to escort the newly wedded couples. This one was unique, the bridegroom came to the Church riding a bicycle but neatly dressed in a western suit-that didnt look funny in that part of the world. Just as the bridegroom was trying to find his position, the bride approached the church riding a bicycle herself while about 50 other noise making women and men on bicycles were following her from the rear. It was a spectacle never before seen in that town. The bride's wedding gown was flying back and forth as she elegantly rode to church-there was a bit of stampede as the entire congregation ran out to witness the strange sight. She rode upto the door steps of the churh and walked right to were the groom was sitting. After the oaths were done, this time about 500 bicycle riders made a procession in the town centre, every business was paralyzed as the whole town folks came out to witness the newly wed couple, each riding a bicycle with about 500 hundred men and women, boys and girls, all riding and ululating from the rear! It was a truely unique wedding!

I went to a renasance wedding a few weeks ago. It was outdoors & very hot. There clothes were heavy. It was a really nice wedding. If I ever get married again it will be in my blue jeans & boots at the courthouse. I won't go thru the whole wedding stuff again.

I bet a renasance wedding was very nice. They picked the wrong season to have it with the heavy clothing. I have been to a wedding where the bride and groom wore their blue jeans and then had a big cookout for the reception.
