I just wanted to take the time to thank you for your kind words the past couple days. It was hard losing him cause he was my child and I loved him dearly, but I also knew he couldn't live forever. In most ways I am at peace with Rascal dying because he did get such a long life and he died at home with us and his own way. Which is what I wanted him for him and I know he would have wanted too.
I had him since he was three to four months old. So yes I got a long happy life with him with many memories, but right now the main memory is the last one, which isn't that greatest, but is what is there....it'll be more a back memory soon, but for now its there.
Rascal was a wonderful dog though and loved by 'almost' all that crossed his path. He will be missed and loved every day and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Thank you again. It meant a lot to me your kind words.

Your very welcome. I know how much it hurts and I wish I could come to where you are a give you a great big hug. Its good to try to remember the good memories and I totally understand about how hard it is to get that last memory out of your mind. I still have a hard time with that one. But it does get better even though there will be setback days. I am thinking about you hun.

Times like this is when you need someone to talk to the most. And, I am glad that we were able to make you feel a little better.
I know losing a pet is hard. I can't imagine losing any of our dogs right now. :(
I remember not to long ago...we had hamsters.
We had them for a while, which seemed like forever, and they were part of the family. But, they did not last so long. They were my babies, and I loved them so much!
I hope that you do really feel better soon.
Later on, you will be able to remember all the good times you shared together! He was a lucky dog to have you! :)

Hi penguinsangel,
I am terribly sorry for your loss. I missed your original post, but hope condolences are still accepted. I am glad that you and Rascal got to share a lot of time together. Losing a "pet" is always difficult--especially when they are so close--as close to a child as they can be.
I'll say a prayer for Rascal. Prayers for you, too.

It is very hard to lose a family pet, because they become so special to you..I am sorry for your loss..but you have good memories.
