How do you relax your eyes?

I know that when you use a computer a lot, you should do things to relax your eyes. Looking away from the monitor for a bit is usually a good start. I wonder, though, if there are other techniques that you use to relax your eyes, whether they are tired from looking at the same thing for too long, or any other reason. Right now, one of my eyelids keeps twitching, and I'm sure that my eyes just need to relax a bit. But I've gotta get back to work in a few minutes. :(

Hot or Cold Happy Gel Pack Eye Mask - Filled with temperature retaining rice and buckwheat to gently massage acupressure points around the eyes and face.
I have an aqua eye pack that I use for my eyes, most of the time people use them for reducing bags under their eyes but I like to put it on them to relax them. It's really nice in the summer, especially if you are in a room with no AC.

Ooh, now that's an excellent idea! It'll have to wait till I go home this evening, but that sounds like a great way to relax after work, especially after getting off the non-airconditioned bus and going into my non-airconditioned apartment! :)

Do you have a glare reducer thingy on your screen? If not, get one. And, rose-colored glasses help cut glare too...that's why mine are shaded the way they are. The docs I know recommend you look away for a minimum of 15 seconds and focus on something far away...it's like stretching the muscle...

I don't think there's actually much of a glare on my monitor... though there probably is on the laptop that I've been using all this week... poo. I'll have to look into the tinting the next time I go to the eye doctor... which who knows how long that will be... don't you just love getting to figure out how to navigate a whole new insurance plan? :p I have been doing as much of the focusing on far away stuff as I can, though. Luckily, I have a lovely view of downtown Seattle out my office window, which gives me a wide array of interesting architecture to look at... as well as occasionally getting to see window cleaners climb from the top of a HUGE building to the side where they need to start cleaning. :)

I look away for a minute then rub my eyes and sit there with them closed for a few minutes. It usually works.

I should probably work on giving my eyes a good rest like that. I think the only time my eyes close for any length of time is when I sleep, and that's probably not a good thing. :)

i get a twitch like that-under the eye. if they're really tired,i'll put visine in them,a cold cloth over them, then lay down a bit.usually when i wake up,they're fine. sometimes when i'm doing mylot though if i'm on here a long time,i'll turn down the brightness on the monitor.helps quite a bit.
