I personally prefer powder because most of the pastes have glycerine, which I believe is not good for dental hygiene. Here is an interesting page on tooth powder: http://mizar5.com/homemade.html

Wow - I have heard of baking soda as an ingredient for cleaning teeth - but vodka? I like it!

I always used Crest because my dentist had recommended it but i have changed toothpast because i feel that i have found something much better. It is "Aquafresh"Extreem * clean with empowerMINT plus whiting. Its Not just Aquafresh, but it has to be that one.It is really good tasting, cleans really well and contains a mouth wash.it is very foamy when you use it and leaves your teeth and mouth feeling very clean and fresh.I am a tooth fanatic and believe in having pearly whites. So hopefully this has been some help to you.

i have never seen or used tooth powder so i cannot make the comparison. i am a tooth paste user ever since i could remember 1st brushing my teeth. all i know is that, oral hygiene products are a must in our everyday lives. brushing with tooth paste or using a tooth powder should be in our daily necessities as it would surely pay off in the long run.

I support the tooth paste as i heard from someone that tooth powder makes scraches on tooth and they create in fall down of the early but there are some tooth powders which are helpful for the decay teeth than the paste. The powders that are aurvedic made are best than paste when compared.

I have never used tooth powder but I do like to use a salt based mouth wash from time to time as well as toothpaste. I tried using a "natural" toothpaste which contains oils and at first it felt weird but I got used to it and sometimes use it instead of conventional toothpaste. Funnily enough some toothpaste actually contains sugar.

My country, we make use of close-up tooth paste and it is most regarded, but I can't really tell which one is the best. Thanks

Hello Coolgeth, I never use tooth powder and I don't even know that it exists. Oh, God! I might be a back-dated person. I normally use tooth paste and I stick to one brand and it is Colgate.

i've heard that tooth powder wears down your teeth more than tooth paste
