I just thought i would share a story. My mother passed 10 plus years ago. A red crush velvet antique chair was giving to me that belong to my mother. Ive tried to give it away to my sister,a friend,a neighbor and other people. I dont have the heart to trow it away.Keep in mind its ugly and i have no use for it. When i give it away after a few years they give it back. Why is it keep coming back to me? odd dont you think?I know someday it will be worth money but even then can i sell? It will probable come back to me. lol Is it the spirit of my mother saying dont forget me? Anyone else have a story like this?Willl you share?

I find your story so touching, punlonnjack, and somewhat humorous also. I think your mother wants you to keep that chair. My mother passed away 5 months ago and I did not receive anything of hers(my sister was running everything), but that's ok because I had little items that she had given me over the years that mean a lot to me. If it bothers you, just store it in the attic or basement, but you just might be glad you held onto it one day. Best wishes.

I got my Oma's old chair. It wasn't bad looking though and we used it in the living room. A few years ago when my son was five he went into my closet and got a lighter and set it on fire. Luckily noone was hurt (well I was burnt on my hands)and the house was okay, It was winter and I threw it outside in the snow. It was totalled. I was sad to see it go cause I would remember her sitting in it telling me stories of her youth in Germany. But just recently I got a beautiful crossed-stitched cat picture she made and is now the center picture in my living room. So now I don't see the chair she sat on telling me stories but the cross-stiching she was doing while she told them. Vicki
