How do you build up your technorati authority? is this just the number of sites that link back to you or what? My blog at http://gajemaster.justfree.com/blog is at a 2 right now for it's authority and I was wondering how I might get it up so that I will have a higher authority rank.
I love technorati and have gotten a lot of blogging jobs because of them but when I started this new blog, I started from scratch and I want to get it way higher than My other blog that has been up for over six months. I want this one to explode. If you know how I might do this, please leave a comment for me.

My blog has a Technorati Authority of 600+ and is in the Top 5k ranking.
Besides getting link by other blogs for quality content, one quick way to increase your Authority is to join "link trains", an example would be ViralTags. This Viral train had helped a lor of blogs ranking and Authority improved by leaps and bounds overnight.
You may want to try it, but there are some bloggers who question the ethic behind such train of gaming the Technorati system.

Hi i looked at this viral tag and it took me to a banner website. Is this the right one and if so how does it relate. if not can you please send me a link and help me out with this. I will add you as a friend.

Technorati authority is the number of blogs that link back to your blog. I am also trying to improve my Technorati authority, right now my three blogs' authorities stand at 9, 4 and 4 respectively. If you are interested, we can exchange links.
In fact, I have joined a viral train as mentioned by one of the blogger above. If you are interested, you can visit my post on this titled "Reciprocal Review". The url is http://assessmyblog.blogspot.com/2007/07/reciprocal-blog-review-idea-is-based-on.html
You just have to copy the text in between the red lines, remove the last blog in the list of sites reviewed and add a review of any other blog you like at the top of the list. In the review, you have added put your blog link as reviewed by.
Then start the word passing around. You will see the results quickly. Thanks.

Thanks for your advice. I would love to do this. I won't be able to do it today but I will defiantly be doing it tomorow. I will leave you a comment on your blog to let you know how and where I added your link. I will also be joining in on the train. I will contact you when I finish this up.

what do you mean there are jobs on technorati?? I have my own two blogs up there but I have to transition one of them to another site. I would love to know how you do with the advice given to you

I have actually done experiment by posting a post filled with inbound link from my own blog and its not increasing, so i tried placing outbound links with good anchor text and it seems to jump after sometime. but i am still trying it out at my blog still, until i get a full result then will i do a confirmation on how they actually increase the authorities, but for not i am sure they look at outbound links given and also who tracks your url.
