Stockings...

Does anyone still wear stockings, as in sheer stockings, I remember when I first started working stockings were quite expensive and they were the type that would always get ladders so they didn't last too long then some smart person brounght out the stocking that did not get runs in them, these were the days a girl would not feel dressed unless she was wearing a pair of stockings, I would never have shown my white legs in summer, thank heavens today it is not as fashionable to have tanned bodies it has been quite a few years now that I have worn stockings, it is no longer a no no to have white legs in fact in is nice. Does anyone out there still wear stockings every day or are they a thing of the past....

I wear pantyhose still. I don't like for my white legs to shine when I go to church. I don't wear shorts except at home during the summer, but my legs are starting to get some tan and I have been working out so they are more firmer than they used to be so I am hoping I won't be embarrassed to wear them in public before long.

I have to wear stockings for my job but not in the summer- I wear them in the winter so they keep my legs a bit warmer than just a plain skirt- I personally think they are so annoying! They get runs alot and just look bad- I only wear them when I have to!

I haven't worn stockings for years , I have only recently stopped wearing tights with trousers as my granddaughters informed me this was not the done thing lol , I still wear them to church and for appointments though , I got my first pair of stockings when I had started to work at aged 15 and with suspender belts which wee hell lol , thank goodness for tights lol xx

such a great question. i have not worn stockings in a long time. now in the working world you don't have to wear them. i will wear them in the winter to help keep me a bit warmer, but once the spring hits those things are in the bottom of my sock drawer waiting for the leaves to change colors

No I do not, but I have in the past. I definitely wouldn't say they are a thing of the past. I know a lot of women that wear them, or I should say I have seen a lot of women wearing them.

I do still wear them - yes. Not every day, because I perfer to have bare legs during the Summer and the warmer months, and if I'm wearing a shorter skirt then tights (I think you call them pantyhose in the States) are more pratical. But I do like to wear stockings and nice lingerie if I'm going out anywhere special or want to look my best. They make me feel more feminine somehow - and - besides - my partner likes them:-))

maybe if i have a special event to go too, but i think it is great its okay to show white legs these days but really i would be more inclined to wear a pair of tights rather than stockings

I do still wear stockings, but I prefer the thigh highs with the lace on the top. they are quit expensive, but this is what my boyfriend likes.I do have some that I also wear with a garter belt also. I like the black ones. But most of the times I do not wear any in the summer as I have a very good tan, so my legs look very nice with out any stockings at all.

In warmer weather I try to go barelegged. In winter, I use black tights. They are warmer and have a longer life than stockings or nylons. I do remember my mother giving me stockings when I was a teenager, how badly they would run, and stopping runs with clear nail polish.
